Had a fun couple of days, a visit to my brother's home was more enjoyable than anticipated. We all only get together for Christmas, so it can be a bit awkward, but I think we all had a nice time. Huxley was invited to meet their 6 month old pup, and they loved each other. It gave us all something to talk about and laugh at, like having toddlers.

Then we were bust finishing up wrapping and got to bed late. Christmas Day was busy with unwrapping and food prep, but in a lazy, dragged out way. We were all tired, and just stayed in Pjs until afternoon, and had a relaxed, but special dinner of tenderloin steaks, mashed potatoes, and green beans. I had more food I could have made, but it was just the 4 of us and that was enough after snacking on treats and apps during the day.

Today is a beautiful warmish day, for December. My daughter is busy with a job these days, so I need to get the dog outside more. He misses her doing that. My early riser, younger child, slept until 9:20 this morning, and it took me until 12:30 to finally nudge him into the shower. He is turned a corner into a lazy teen. It is official on January 6th, lol.

I hope all of you are well, and looking forward to the new year. I am. It has been a rocky time for me, and I need to get back to routines. My hubby got a new job that he starts next week, too! Very regular hours, in the city, and a good raise. It will force us all into more routines. This is a good thing.

Congrats on the new job, Phoebe! And I hear you on the need for routines. It helps me in all ways to have a schedule.

So much for schedules though! We're totally out of routine over here. Lol

Ha, yes, Conquest! This week's is all over the map for us, but it's a "staycation" week, with a few little plans, mixed in with hubby's last couple of days at the old job, and then, hosting the boy'a buddies for an evening.

Christmas is such a messy, cluttered event! Too much stuff. Clutter makes my brain feel cluttered. It stresses me for some reason.

"Outer order is inner peace." (Or some thing close to that) Gretchen Rubin

So true for me! I think I'm finally giving up on trying to keep up with the messes. At least for now I am. Sheesh!

Can't stand the clutter either, ladies. Since having kids I've had to hold back on a lot of that stuff. But on the other hand if it weren't for me secretly donating things to goodwill I'd be living with a bunch of horders. I've learned to be patient with that and bite my tongue. It's only temporary as the kids are young, but this stuff adds up. Especially with the new influx of toys this Christmas.

On another note I've gone into day two here at my mother in laws. Shes great and all, but I'm stir crazy and need to get out of here tonight. Might take my oldest back with me home and leave the wife and toddler. It's something to do. The ride is about an hour.

Yay! Glad you made it safely, Arbor. Enjoy your guy time at the barbershop tomorrow!

I'm feeling the same aaaaahh now that we're home from a swanky steakhouse dinner with the other side of the family. They are a bunch of foodies and I wish I could be too right now. Unfortunately, doctor's orders say "the blander, the better".
But it was still the best (and most expensive lol) chicken and plain potato ever... BOOM!

Time for some cozy socks, sleepytime tea, and This Is Us.
Gnight gang!

The heat can be miserable, Suze. So sorry. And just think, this will be the last time you'll have to deal with it. I'm pretty sure that Ohio's summers are quite mild.
