Because I haven't learnt how to isolate quotes I can only say congratulations to all milestoners and support and love to anyone struggling. The cake is always scrumptious Strat. Clock me on for 24 hours more please 2:18pm AEST. Ah, the gift of sobriety. I am so grateful.

I didn't make it through day 1 yesterday. There was still alcohol in the house and I drank it, justifying it to myself on the belief that it might be dangerous to suddenly detox.
I know deep down that this was a mere excuse as I don't go into withdrawals when I have a night off on an overnight shift.
Aiming to stay away from drinking for today.
I really want this and am not giving up!
Aiming for my first 24.

It might have been dangerous to just detox love, and it's a good idea for any of us to talk to a GP when we stop drinking. Medical supervision is sometimes necessary, and can even be just a good support.

Well it's been right around 24 hours now since I've had a drink.. I have to be up hopefully in four hours, but in 6.5 hours at the latest if I want to be at work merely on time vs. early for extra hours. I have such terrible anxiety running through me right now and sleeping feels impossible.. knowing I have to face all my coworkers tomorrow is tormenting me after I didn't show up all week. Not to mention I'm supposed to be decorating a cake at work tomorrow for a friend's birthday, that I was supposed to take with me to the bar when I went.. really feel terrible, his sister that ordered the cake from me has been texting me about it all day but I'm too anxious and embarrassed to respond, much less to have to confess to her tomorrow that I can't take it to the bar for her because I'm too scared to even set foot in there. I'm really scared I'll lose my motivation tomorrow and end up drunk again. But I'm going to try to go to an AA meeting after work.

I know it's hard not to worry, but the best thing you can do right now is to look after yourself, get some rest, and make it to work.
