24 Hour Recovery Connections Part 75
Gave the remaining 3 peanut butter balls to a friend who was sad. She took her youngest to college yesterday. Today's treat for me is chia pudding, which is chia seeds and almond milk. Stir together and let sit overnight in the fridge.
I have been working hard to eat more healthily, so instead of food of the day, I will bring a healthy food idea of the day! Can you work with that, Strat?
Have a good, sober day, all.

Today we are covering another bird, the Mauritius Kestrel (Falco punctatus) which is also endangered. This bird species has been one of the most remarkable conservation stories. In the 1950s and 1960s, indiscriminate use of DDT use and invasive species killed the kestrels and their eggs. In 1974, the recorded population dropped to only 4 individuals. A captive breeding program was instituted which was no longer needed by the early 1990's. In 2005, there were at least 800 mature birds. Recent estimates estimate less than 300 mature individuals. They have disappeared from part of their range and now endangered again. There are some concerns that the high rates of inbreeding may reduce the long-term viability of the species.
I always look forward to seeing each and every one of you here! I hope to see you all here again tomorrow!
