PRALINE DAY!!!
I love pralines, I make them each Christmas and give them as gifts.
Here are some praline facts:
Praline is a type of candy made from nuts and sugar syrup, whether in whole pieces or a ground powder.
Although the stories surrounding the creation differ, it is widely agreed that pralines are named after French diplomat from the early 17th century whose name and title was César, duc de Choiseul, comte du Plessis-Praslin.
French settlers brought this recipe to Louisiana, where both sugar cane and pecan trees were plentiful. During the 19th century, New Orleans chefs substituted pecans for almonds, added cream to thicken the confection, and thus created what became known throughout the American South as the praline.
In New Orleans and along the Gulf Coast, where there are many communities settled by the French, the pronunciation is prah-leen, with the long aaah sound. Other regions of the country, including parts of Texas, Georgia, and New England have anglicized the term and pronounce it pray-leen.
In Europe, the praline has evolved to an entirely different candy altogether. In Belgium and France, praline is a smooth paste of cocoa blended with finely ground nuts and used to fill chocolate bon-bons, but when it came to New Orleans it took another road.

Solarion-so glad you enjoyed the cake! Would go perfectly with the ice cream you had. I had no idea it was pecan day either.

. Strat that cake looks so delicious. I need to go figure something out for dinner. I was online booking our flights for vacation. Excited..but still have 2 months. Congrats to our celebrants today !! Hope you all had a pleasant day today. My friend, who I met at our old Homegroup, celebrates 2 years today. YEAH! She asked that I bake her birthday cake for Saturday's meeting. Of course...

UPDATE ON grtgrandpa ~
Just in case anyone missed it, our beautiful grtgrandpa is recovering from his procedure and doing well.
Now we need him to get stronger every day!
Praying for his full recovery, and sending him oodles of love! ♥♥♥

Wonderful news on GG venus, thanks for sharing.
I'm celebrating my 100th day in recovery today. I honestly didn't think I could ever feel this good. As I deepen my understanding of myself and accept myself fully just as I am, I feel a sense of wonder and joy, and an enduring joy at that, that I haven't experienced before. The fog is lifting and I feel I'm beginning to experience life again. Almost like a second chance.
I've struggled with low mood for pretty much my whole adult life so this joyfulness is beautiful to me. And very much something I want to last. So for now I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing.
Wayne Dyer suggests "Any time you start a sentence with 'I Am' you are creating what you are and what you want to be. "
With that in mind, todays affirmation:
**I am loving, I am patient, I am grateful, I am kind**
What are you going to be today?
