Class of September 2014
Morning everyone.. great to wake up without that ....feeling ..of regret ...
This will be the first week end in September....and for me will be a challenge...Last year I managed 3 months without a drink......then foolishly believed I could manage the ocassional drink....you can see how thatturned out.
I will say from experience that the first 2 weeks for me are the most difficult...

Welcome xJBx! and Happy Friday all -- it is the start of day 4 for me.
I am looking forward to a sober weekend as well....maybe a couple of runs, definitely some housecleaning (both mental and physical), and a couple of excellent meals. Cooking, for me, has always equating with drinking....so, I will need to find some substitutes here - so far it has been just tonic water, lemon and ice. Any other suggestions?

Weekends have been my downfall. It's a mental thing mostly leading up to drinking, so it's like relapsing in my head hours before I actually drink. This weekend I'll just let the thoughts pass on through and then go on there own way, I know where the drinking leads. One day at a time like you said.
My struggles are after work for the first 4 to 5 days. And then the urge diminishes.
My guard is up though, because I'll get blind-sided by me AV, out of no where, at any time in the coming months.
For those that are new to SR, "AV" is an acronym for "Addictive Voice". I never heard of it until joining SR, but I sure believe it now.

Morning class! Beginning of day 5. Feeling much, much better today, much lower anxiety....starting to feel the whisper of hope again! Staying the course, in it for the long haul with you guys!
Hope everyone's day brings hope and something to feel good about! Be blessed!

Not much sleep last night. Drinking dreams.... Was driving and went to jail. Yikes.
My girl is at pre k and I'm relaxing this morning. Have a wonderful day friends

I'm working on it myself, but Dee has shared this on "urge surfing":

In a nutshell, recognizing the urges, letting them pass.

Good morning all! I managed to get through the game last night without a single drink! Instead of waking up with an alcohol induced headache, I was awoken by a "too much salt from pizza" headache lol. Still painful but it definitely beats the alternative! Hoping to muster up the energy to work out a little later, though I would rather lay around and finish off last nights queso! I hope everyone had a good night last night!
