I'm in for 24 more. 6:20 am on Friday. What a doozy of a week its been, but I'm happy to say that I did not give away my peace or my sobriety. Very grateful for that.
Deeker-today's post really touched me, brought some tears to my eyes. I'm working on letting go of some deeply rooted resentment and forgiveness. You gave me some things to think about. Thanks.

Forgiveness
Resentments are hard to let go of and can become a reason for me to drink or
use. I personally can't afford to have them.
Holding onto a resentment is only hurting me, the other person is going about
their life not thinking about me I am sure and they have no idea that I am
stewing inside.
I am just letting them rent space in my head and for free.
Resentment keeps me stuck and keep me from growing , keep me from seeing
my part in any given situation, it prevents me from enjoying this moment.
The other night the hubby and I had a squabble. Said a few distasteful words but
recovered very quickly. We both have a 12 step program. We are able to let things
go very soon after. We are able to forgive.
Today I pray for those whom I don't always see eye to eye with. There's a saying
"To forgive is to set the prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you."
My desire today is to be a forgiving, non- judgemental person. To live and let live.
Am I now? Not always. But that is my desire. It's hard as heck especially with family.
The craziest people in my life are members of my own family, what dysfunction!
But I try to let God be the judge. I have not walked in their shoes.
If my whole family could forgive me of infidelity and poor mothering, bailing me
out of jails and all the BS I put them through , then I should be able to forgive
others for the little and sometimes big offenses in life.
No one has hurt me as bad as I hurt my family. So I should give others a little slack
especially my family. Easier said than done sometimes I know. But who is it really
hurting?
I know there are probably some of you who have suffered greatly by what others
have done to you. Forgiveness is probably one of the hardest things we will ever have
to do in life.
But remember forgiveness is not just for them it sets us free. Unforgiveness could
be the one thing that is preventing us from finding lasting sobriety.
It doesn't mean to forget or to allow toxic people back into our lives it means we are
ready to let it go. To stop allowing it to consume us.
Neither we or they can go back and change the past.
It's going to be hard but is there anyone we need to forgive today?
Our recovery could depend on it.

Happy Friday Morning, everyone. Signing in for another 24 hours of sober living. 4:00am here in Sunny Summerlike AZ. Tomorrow I am headed to WI to meet the Springtime I miss so much! CR
