Oh ((Bobbi)), I am so sorry for your loss. A prayer for you and your family. Yes, GGP, a very sad reminder that this disease wants us dead, plain and simple.

Today I will cherish my sobriety just a little bit more having been once again reminded of the fatal nature of this disease.

Sorry I didn't get on yesterday to sign up and missed Venuscat's story, devastating about your parents Venuscat but so wonderful that even through all that you found sobriety and that you are helping so many people on their journey as of course is the lovely Deeker again one of the miracles, turning your life around and being here for us all. So so sorry to hear of your brother Bobbi, you must be beyond pain, thinking of you and his poor wife. This disease is horrible. It is just by the grace of God that we are here overcoming it one day at a time.

It is actually a relief to be here signing up for another day of beautiful sobriety - praying for all the suffering alcoholics who have yet to find peace. 11.59am

After a day of great success of opening up to my sober brother of 13 years, I am here for another 24. I'm now looking into an AA group, but I may only get to go once a week or every other, but I know there are online options as well. Deek and all your volunteers, this was the push I need. (PS - the stories here break my heart, but the strength that people find in it is an inspiration for us. We all have our pain, don't we?)

Checking in for today...On day 3 and feel pretty awful due to insomnia last night. Insomnia in the past has led me to binges, especially when things like warm milk, melatonin, valerian root, and chamomile tea don't work to keep me asleep.
