Today- actually this entire WEEKEND- was incredible! Hit my first milestone and even got a chip out of it! I also got to visit an artist (Banksy) installment I've been wanting to see all month! I'm so grateful and am definitely IN for another 24 hours at 12:17AM from NYC!

The Battle Of The Mind
It seems like sometimes the battles I face most in life are the
ones in my own head. It's my own fear, negativity, pride, procrastination,
uncertainty.
But it's a battle that can easily be won if I just take action. I have to
get off my booty and walk through my fear and just do what I need to do.
Sometimes that commitee in my head is more painful to deal with
then the actual thing I was fearing or dreading in the first place.
This is not a plug for AA though I love AA it's just an example...
I remember how I fought so hard against going to AA my very first
time. I had all these preconceived ideas, all these self centered thoughts
about how I was gonna stand out when I walked in and everyone would
stare and someone I knew would be there.
I even played that "I am not that bad yet " game. Even when I
knew my life was falling apart.
My mind is a dangerous place to go sometimes. And my thinking
kept me out there for another 30 something years on and off
because of pride and my unwillingness to have an openmind and
do what I needed to do.
When I finally walked thru that fear and pride out of sheer desperation
I realized I was no better and no worse off then anyone else in
the rooms of AA. Truthfully I was just not that important. I
am just another drunk.
They were human beings just like me from all walks of life. Professionals,
blue collar workers, housewives, retirees they were the same people I
sat next to on a bar stool they just were not
drinking anymore.
Some of the things that we fear the most in life are made up in our
own minds. And there is usually no truth to them at all.
Let's breakaway from that false fear, pride and uncertainty in our minds today.
And walk with faith, courage and openmindedness.
