Lyrics This Is The moment - Erik Santos
This is the moment
This is the day
When I send all my doubts and demons on their way
Every endeavor I have made ever
Is coming into play, is here and now today.
This is the moment, this is the time
When the momentum and the moment are in rhyme
Give me this moment, this precious chance;
I’ll gather up my past and make some sense at last.
This is the moment, when all I’ve done
When all the dreaming, scheming and screaming become one.
This is the day, see it sparkle and shine
When all I've live for becomes mine
For all these years,
I’ve face the world alone,
And now the time has come
To prove to them I've made it on my own
This is the moment, my final test,
Destiny beckoned, I never reckoned second best
I won't look down, I must not fall;
This is the moment, the sweetest moment of them all
This is the moment, damn all the odds
This day or never,
I’ll sit forever with the Gods,
When I look back, I will always recall,
Moment for moment...
This was the moment...
The greatest moment...
Of them all
*Song For The Day - This Is The Moment - Erik Santos

9 pm in Oregon, USA,
Still sober, and plan to be all weekend!
Have a great night or day, depending on where you are,
Stay strong, my sober buddies,
it's not always easy, but feels so good to wake up with no hangover, eh?
Peace,
~Heartfan

Wow, I keep checking in after midnight...someone is going to start thinking that I actually have developed some semblance of a social life. Sober.
Anyway, checking in after a nice dinner with friends and watching a father and his two sons celebrate a triple anniversary tonight. The dad has been sober for 31 years, one son eight years, and the other six. The one with six years had been in jail nine times, overdosed four, technically died twice, almost had his arm amputated from infections at needle sites, won't have his license back for another four years, and lost absolutely everything to drugs and alcohol. He was 34 when he started recovery. He is now one of the most beloved members of our group and gives so much back to other addicts. I LOVE celebrating recovery stories like that (our own Deeker has quite a powerful one too..)
Anyway, sorry for the longish post but I love to see evidence that anyone, ANYONE, can turn it around no matter how far down they've gone.
Off to bed at 12:23 AM in DC.
See you all tomorrow!!

Well yesterday was beautiful but its in the rear view mirror...
And tomorrow is forever a day I never see...
I live today, and try to only live in the moment..
Good night peeps...
