Hi Purple Cat! Thanks for checking back in!

My wife and I have been experiencing the empty nest thing the past couple of years, although our kids are only an hour and a half away so we see them often. It's an adjustment, but it can also open new doors for you.

Yeah. Our son is just over an hour. I've seen him every week since he left lol, either through him coming home (his girlfriend's still at home) or going to watch him golf. He's actually home right now - said there was a big party on campus last night but he'd rather be here. There's only 1200 students at the school so everybody knows what's going on. He said a couple of lacrosse players got busted at his friends frat for underage drinking - they showed up that way so nobody at the frat got busted....but lots of partying does go on at that school.

Thanks for checking in PC. I hear you guys talking about being "empty nesters" and I am in such a different stage of life than you guys. With a 1 year old and a 5 year old, it makes me appreciate all of the craziness at our house right now. Thank you for that.

Glad you are doing well. Thanks again for checking in.

Me, too. Just killing time surfing the web and this site came to mind. Good to see it still going as I had my doubts. Can't complain myself.

Thanks for checking in Midton! So cool to see you guys stopping in.

I think we all can agree that this site helped us a lot in our earlier days of trying to figure out this whole drinking business.

As for me, I will (God willing) celebrate four years sober November 9th.

Hi everyone. Just thought I would check in. I received my four year medallion this week. My sponsor who has 34 years gave me his four year medallion! It was pretty awesome. His wife also baked cupcakes and we enjoyed them at our meeting.

I hope you all are well. Happy early Thanksgiving everyone.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope you all are well.

We are heading to my inlaws this afternoon for a couple days. Then on Friday we fly to Florida for a Disney Cruise that leaves on Sunday. My parents are taking all of their kids, spouses, and grandkids as their treat to us. Should be a fun time! It is cold here in SD already, so we are really looking forward to some warm weather.

I hope you all are well. I think we all have so many things to be grateful for.

I owe a lot to this group. Although it isn't very active anymore, this group got me the information and gave me the direction I needed to get and stay sober. I am forever indebted to the people on here. I finally have a life again. And a better one than I ever dreamed.

I have put together a little more than four years of sobriety now the same way you have done six months... one day at a time. Just keep doing the "next right thing".

Blessings to you in 2014.
