HB, I have been searching everywhere for just the right yellow...and that's it! Soft Candlelight! I bookmarked the page on the Glidden site so I can find it again when I get home...and the good news is, I can get it in Canada. So thank you.

No whines from me this morning, it may rain today but that would only mean a trip to the mall and an art show. Lots of art shows on around here and I am loving every one.

So happy Whiny Sunday everyone, let the whining begin!

Hev, New Kids was Mark's brother, Donnie.

RZ

Yep, Mark has made a name for himself in Hollywood; the good news is that he's not a "bad boy" like Charlie Sheen. He's got a wife and 4 kids and is pretty private and humble.

Someone on SR had a signature that said, "Whatever Charlie Sheen is doing, do the opposite." LOL

Thanks for sharing RZ

Morning coffee is done, now it's time to get rolling...literally...with paint.

Ann, glad you like the Soft Candlelight.

I had 6 different shades of yellow samples on my wall before finding that one.

It was worth it.

It's a nice neutral with just enough of a hint of yellow to keep it from being *boring beige* - I think you know my motto:

"Life is too short to do beige".

And you can mix 'n match any color/fabric curtains, pillows, accessories with Soft Candlelight - it's very versatile.

Glidden is a nice paint product too...low odor formula and spreads evenly.

It doesn't make me *want* to paint any more though...I hate it, I hate it, I hate it.

Good moaning whiners. Not feeling good today, headachey and crummy. I'd love to be able to go back to bed but have things to do today...

HB - So I had to go take a look myself. I love the candlelight shade - also liked the Pineapple Sorbet. I'm afraid I'm one of those "beige" people. For years I was afraid to go beyond Eggshell White or Ivory - I'm ready to be more adventurous! Never got into the wallpaper or stenciling thing - it looked like torture, even if the results were pretty.

Least - here's hoping you feel better. Stress has probably caused it.

A bright sunny day here, but still in the 30's. Average temp. is mid-40's here in the winter. Grocery Store, Dollar Store, perhaps a glimpse of the ocean. Have a lovely Sunday Whiney-kins.

HB do the opposite of Charlie -

Yellow emulsion or the odd wallpaper has been my fave for years now with brilliant white gloss. No point in me looking.......this is Ireland and different paints here.

Hev - break away from the beige, you will be envirgorated.

I have something for all the cat owners to allow them to get a night's sleep, keeping our feline masters occupied while we staff snooze.

Right have to go out and get bread and milk. Grumble.

HB, I wanted a colour that was not yet another shade of white or beige, yet not mustard or daffodil yellow either...just a warm soft yellow (with white trim).

Of course when I finally get the painting done...I will be needing a new sofa and love seat. I really hate the one I have, it was just a bad choice a couple of years ago and I have punished myself enough.

Warm sunny day here in the south whiners, come on down!!

I had my living room paited last year (Mr. Fandy was useful at times)....i too wet with a very very pale yellow...(a valspar maize name).....it looks great in a big room with light wood floors....he painted the fireplace mantle a deep chocolate (i need to replace it at one point), the fireplace itself is gray/dark green marble with glass doors.....

I also need the ceiling molding re-painted...i am sick of celery color.

had a quiet day, got some sleep, no cats woke me up but my chest is congested so i was up at 4-5AM anyway....

so i have started my controversal HCG diet.....so far so good....i am not hungry at least and staying out of the snacking....IDK if i can follow it to closely, it is VLCD, but i can give it a try....i am so sick of yo-yo-ing.

Off to Lake Okeechobee tomorrow....road trip with Bubba.

It is pretty much due east and a little north...how hard can that be to follow?

Stay tuned, whines to follow, I'm sure.

Gawd, I hate painting kitchens.

Actually, it was all the cutting in under cabinets, above countertops, around bay windows, and pulling out the stove and fridge and painting behind those that was the biggest pain in the arse.

*Love* the Soft Candlelight color...can't wait to see it in the morning light.

Big a whine-a-roonie...

I have to re-paint all my cabinets...22 of them plus 6 pull-out drawers!

They're currently painted Cashmere Cream and they get lost in the Soft Candlelight walls.

They need to be white, white, white.

Wwwaaaahhhhhhhhhhh

I hate painting cabinets more than kitchen walls.

Am not happy.

it's getting time to repaint the old kitchen,

6 years of garlic and olive oil does take it's tole

Actually that was Awayfromit who started that one. But it fits and I love it.

I don't paint. I don't care how ugly it looks, I do not paint. Last time I painted a room was thirty years ago and it was my bedroom ceiling - I painted it black and stuck these little glowing stars all over it.... how very 'sixties' it was...

Shades of my drunken past... I laid down for a 'rest' at 4pm and slept til almost 9pm!!! Puts me in mind of the bad ol' days when I'd pass out mid afternoon and sleep til after the dogs' supper time... I must have been very tired to sleep that long in the daytime. Of course now I won't be able to sleep tonight...

The stink bugs are back!!! I've killed several of the damn things in the last week or so... And I've only seen them in my den, nowhere else in the house... aarrgghh!!

I don't think i have ever seen a stink-bug????

Least, i don't paint either...i would be taking a job from someone else who actually would do it well....the last thing i painted was the masterbedroom about 8 years ago.

so far, so good on the diet but it's only 637AM...check with me in 3 hours.....

Oh me neither!!

When I say "I need to paint..." I mean "I need to choose a splendid colour then hire a painter."

Off to Okeechobee and Everglades. See ya later, alligator!!

I mashed my finger in a fixture at work today and now I've got a good blood blister going that I'm gonna have to stick a pin in at some point, I hate when that happens...

My only whine so far is that it's a holiday so no mail delivery. I love getting the mail. And I'm expecting a pkg this week... but not today...

After my mega-nap I finally got to sleep last night but had crazy dreams all night.

Better finish my coffee and get the dogs their breakfast. Jack is waiting patiently in my den, as he always does.

Soft Candlelight looks beayooouuuutious in the morning light.

No gainful employment means no hired-hand painter.

I'm on my own to cut corners (pun intended) any way I can.

I know there's a lesson to be had somewhere in this job search frustration.

Am just sick of being patient while trying to find it and tired of hearing "no"...demmit!

Hi Whineys---I'm still whining about comments made on the Golden Globes last night about Robert Downey Jr. (alkie). I started a thread & it helped to say it. It could be that I'm a tad paranoid. You think?

Monday, Monday - gloomy & cold. Wish I was touring the 'glades with Ann & Bubba.
