Living in Sobriety Part 5
I think when you think like that lizzy it makes life very exciting also. I find myself wondering and watching what God will put in your path each day. If sobriety is a gift then we should always be thankful for that gift, just as we would be thankful to a friend for a gift. The best way I can be thankful is live the best way I can as honestly as I can.
Im going to bed, Tomorrow busy, hubby wants a lift to work and thats a very early start, Then I have a full day on. Later I go to area meeting.

If Monkey Quest were on SR's list of games, I would rule! I'd sock you all!
I'm going to a meeting tonight before picking up my daughter. Fearful. Going alone cause no one can come out tonight. But I'm going. Take that, fear! KAPOW!
Me and daughter going for impromptu trip to Toronto tomorrow it's about 45 minutes by car we will stroll around and people-watch, and maybe visit Chinatown.

Small meeting but a good one. Saw a couple people I knew a bit. Still didn't share much, only who I was: an alcoholic who wants to stop drinking. Got a couple more numbers too. Starting to feel human again tonight. Looking forward to a good sleep.
Arguing now with ck whose bike is at her dads house (??) and she wants a ride to work and back tomorrow and doesn't think she should have to pay me for my time cause it's not HER fault she couldn't get her bike home... But if she hadn't taken it in the first place... I stand by my decision, pay up or walk.

Least, why not try to catch more bees with honey, give CK a ride to work if you have the free time, maybe if you both bend a little, there could be some harmony in the house. Just like with the boyfriend, a little kindness goes a long way. Like Elizabeth was saying with the rippling effect, one good deed and so on.

Meeting was good. Sponsee was there so we sat together. I was humbled when a man I admire got up to collect his 24 hour chip, saying that he used cocaine twice in the last month - he had 13 years sober. Many years ago, he changed his date when he smoked pot a couple of times. He got up and apologized, briefly, to his group, but acknowledged that even if this was Alcoholics Anonymous, in his eyes it was a relapse - and I concur.
The thing is, we never really know when it might be our turn, do we?
We can do everything in our power, and in God's power, to ensure our sobriety, but one misstep, and down it comes. My thoughts and prayers are with the still suffering alcoholic and addict tonight.
Hugs to you all. Have a good night's sleep.

Sis...wish I could hug that guy, too. I stopped drinking 4 months before the diet pills.
My sober date is my clean date. A program of honesty...I couldn't have done it any
other way...and those things were destroying me. What kind of "sobriety" did I have?
None, really.
My thoughts and prayers are with the suffering, too.
Cunning, baffling, powerful! It is.
Thank God, though..for sobriety.
Night peeps. :ghug2:

My sober date is my clean date too IO. Very important for me to be honest today. I was such a dishonest person before.
Ro, I'm so glad your sponsee was there tonight, I know you were nervous about going yourself, but you faced your fear and went, and look George put your sponsor there for you. What a guy!!!!!
It is imperative that we be constantly vigilant, use the phone, go to meetings, talk to sponsor, because we are only one thought away from picking up. I honestly don't know how people stay sober without using the tools. I know for me, even after the 15 years, I wasn't working any kind of program and my disease was just sitting there patiently waiting for just that right moment when it decided to strike and me not being prepared for it, no steps in place, no phone calls to make, I just bowed to my disease and gave in.
Good night my friends, hope you all have a great sleep (No s*x dreams Ro & Elizabeth) hugs to you all. See ya in the AM.
