Today I just lost it on my way back from work - started crying in the elevator.

I keep doing what I've planned but the darkness and hopelessness is just too big now.

I'm sorry you're struggling MB, and I know it's difficult but I find it so important to keep on trudging and pushing through our darkest moments.

I have to agree with Astro as to continue to push
thru the difficulties. Folks would often remind me
to step up even more so when I felt the same way
as you thru out my own recovery for 29 yrs now.

Remembering that you, me, us are never alone. Nor
do you ever have to be alone or figure out lifes ups
and downs by ourselves.

Arming ourselves with as much recovery support
to lean on, to ask for guidance, direction, suggestions
will help you take those sober steps one day at a
time while learning to build a strong, solid foundation
to live a successful life upon while striving to achieve
many of lifes wonderful gifts like health and happiness.

Hold onto you recovery lifelines and take your support
with you while incorporating recovery tools and knowledge
in all your affairs.

I just wanted to let you know I was thinking about you. This is a really hard and scary situation. The thing is, it does end. Eventually you will have a new job and these memories will fade into the past. I wish you the best.

Hi, all.

I am sticking to my program, I say, at 70% rate.

Workouts, nutrition, meditation - here I manage more or less.

But in the areas of building new relationships or reviving my creativity - here I am totally stuck.

I know I don't need to see the entire stairs to make the first step, but I can't shake off the feeling 'Why do I need to make the first step at all? What's the point?"

Ya know, I'm having a particularly stressful and rough week but even at a time like this I still feel that my life today is a gift that I wouldn't want to refuse, and in order to get here I had to take those first steps, and many after that.

This may seem like a dumb suggestion, but PRAY to your Higher Power. Ask for his guidance, for Him to come into your life. This really works for me. Whenever I feel like I am in a desperate situation, I pray to my Higher Power and ask him to be with me. I always get some positive result.
