Weaning Off of Effexor
Gilmer, yay on feeling ok today.
I took Wellbutrin for five years I guess. It helped me with road anxiety , and I had no bad side effects from it. At higher doses I had a bit of blurry vision, which went away with a lower dose.
I stopped taking it without any withdrawals at all.
good luck! and have a great day!

To take a slight tangent here, I have experienced a permanent blurriness of vision because of ocular cancer in my left eye that I had a few years ago. Because of the trauma, it developed a cataract, which I've since had removed. Now with my glasses off, my left eye--the bad eye--sees much more clearly than my "good" eye, which is extremely nearsighted.
I need to get my glasses changed so that my left lens has no prescription! Really blurry with my current glasses!

Day 6. No ill effects. If this keeps up for another week, I'd like to try going down to one Effexor and up to three Wellbutrin. My doctor's appointment is for a month from now--I'd like to make it sooner.
I am very excited that the only bad reaction in going from 3 to 2 is that one brief outburst on the first day.

I have been very absentminded today. I don't know if it's an effect of the Wellbutrin, or if it's a reaction to the huge stress of being at my dad's beck and call all day suddenly because he has developed dementia. It's been a rough week.

I currently take 75 mg of Wellbutrin and 75 mg of Effexor in the morning
75 mg of Wellbutrin at lunch
75 mg of Effexor at night.
That's the spring and summer (normal dose). I hope in awhile to cut out the Effexor at night and replace it with 75 mg. of Wellbutrin.
If I get seasonal depression in fall and winter (which I sometimes do), I will go up to 4 antidepressant pills a day.

I feel as though I'm falling into dementia, too! (just joking--though I made a serious error in the checkbook--overpaid a bill by an enormous amount (!?) and nearly forgot a dentist's appointment today. Plus, I keep searching for the words I want to spit out, but can't quite find them upstairs.
It's not constant, though--just one incident a week. I hope it's just stress! I'm one who is truly as cool as a cucumber during the day, but grinds the heck out of my teeth at night!

I can't medically do time release, unfortunately. So I have to take my battalion of pills at my specified intervals. That's OK, though: I'm very organized and like clockwork. (until the "dementia" hits one day, I guess!)

I looked up the side effects of Wellbutrin, and absent-mindedness per se is not one of them. Inability to concentrate is a rare side effect--but I don't really think that's my problem.
Hopefully, it's just a transition thing. 'Cause what I did while ago was seriously laughable.
I was in the kitchen making salmon salad. I got the mayo mixed in and was ready for pepper which was in the cabinet behind me. I turned around and...what did I want?
Didn't even have to walk into another room.
