Astro, you and your brother are in my daily
thoughts and prayers. Dear Lord we ask that You
bring them forth with healing and optimism for
a brighter future in health and life. I pray for
good news that the surgery was a success. Amen.

We all have a past. We all made choices that maybe
weren't the best ones. None of us are completely
innocent, but we get a fresh start every day to be
a better person than we were yesterday.

Thank You God for blessing me with perseverance
to keep ahead of all the millions of leaves falling over
my backyard. I will get out there again today with
the blower and vacuum and hope we are near the
end of this part of the season of falling leaves.

Prayers work, we know that, and whether one or one thousand, all prayers are answered, nothing is too small or too big for our mighty God. Thank you all for your prayers for they were answered in a miraculous way, and I know that thousands were praying for Mark.

Thank you God for a more than successful surgery, for a thorough removal of his tumor, for the implant of radiation seeds that Mark's surgeon helped to develop. Thank you for the kind staff that continues to care for him as he recovers, Lord we pray that he is released to go home sometime today. And most of all we believe that he came out of this with improved speech and motor skills, some of the effects of his palsy will remain but his memory and physical condition are checking out well. God we ask that his gait, balance, and eyesight improve over time and we believe that they will because you are bigger than this cancer, God. Thank you.

post on what transpired yesterday with your brothers
surgery.

Miracles happen each and everyday and we see
them, hear them, feel them, believe in them truly.

Life is boring if you don't laugh, joke
around and be a little bit crazy every
now and then. At the end of the day,
it's about being happy.

Thank You for the joy of seeing new growth
on dormant plants showing signs of life when
I'm thinking they are done for.

A new week of leaf vacuuming and hoping falling
leaves will end soon because I enjoy a clean garden
of paradise.

Thank you God for the spectacular beauty in the moon last night as we were driving home. It was breathtaking
Thank you God for bringing in my life a person yesterday that understands what I went through last year with my cancer. Long story, but he had tears in his eyes and I could see his pain and understanding. Unfortunate the connection was because of cancer but fortunate to have that kind of bond with a stranger.

Like our addictions, I think it's important we have those connections Alpine, we need to be supported and related to, understood in our struggles. I'm very grateful that you crossed paths with that person.

Thank you God for the roar of the crowd, the sound of the bat hitting the ball (that crack!) balls being thrown and caught, and the fans enjoying the sunshine, atmosphere, food and fun at Spring training games. Thank you God for providing this work for me, and also for my early release yesterday so I could be with my brother.

Thank You God for the open line of communication
I have with my family. I ask that You continue to bless
them, protect them, guide them and keep them safe
in Your care each and every day.

Asvtro, at first..and I still am except for here have been very private about my cancer. Very few people in my real world know except for immediate family and maybe 3 other people. At first I was embarrassed..yes..embarrassed..then I don't know..Can't explain it. It was nice to make that connection because cancer is such a lonely road to be on. You don't know until you know..

God, my prayer today is that my brother gradually become somewhat independent in the days ahead, and although it may seem selfish to hear me say this, I want him to be less reliant on me and others. I love helping my brother and being there for him, but many of us have families and homes of our own that we need to care for too. So that's it God, self-reliance is my prayer for my brother today.

God, please help me to establish a conscience
connection with You as I seek Your powerful
presence throughout the day. Fill my perception
with openness and my heart with gratitude. May
I treasure this life today as I remember it's
fragility and preciousness.

As I work on the gardening, the gardening works
on me.

So much good exercise yesterday as I unloaded
a whole pallet of cinder blocks so I could finally
close our white vinyl fence gate. Then blow tons
of leaves to be vacuumed in preparation for hopefully
some Mother Natures Miracle grow rain tomorrow.

There lots of new growth on mnay of my plants
stored in greenhouses in the Winter and ready to
come out for fresh air and Spring Sunshine to help
them grow and bloom pretty.

These plants are most Hibiscus trees and potted
ones along with various other variety plants.

My nursery is getting packed with so many Roses
and so many other awesome plants to go look at
and find something new and interesting to bring
home.

That Spring flower shopping is working on me as
I am getting extremely excited to go very soon.

Thank You God for the gift of gardening. May each day
be filled with everlasting joy it brings to me and others. Amen.

Thank you God for another birthday today that I am grateful for. There are so many others that were not able to reach the age I am and were called up at a early age in life. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to grow and I hope...help others on this journey of life.
Thank you God for warmth yesterday and the spring smell to the air..the damp soil, the wet grass., the sounds of the birds, ..All my senses are alive and taking it in.

sharon, I love that your gardening excites you so much, we're expecting rain too and I need it because I haven't been able to get to the watering lately.

Well God, Mark was back at the ER again and of course you know that. Please help us work on pain and medication management today God, we'll get through this, with You by our side Mark will gain his independence back, it may be a slow journey but that's for You to decide.

Prayers continue for your brother Astro that as time goes
on, he will settle in with what works for him improving his
health and life.

Thank you, God, for waking us up this morning so that we
can give You Praise and live through the day being the best,
healthiest, sober, honest, caring folks we can be to ourselves
as well as others around us.

God, I offer myself to Thee – To build with me and to do with
me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may
better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over
them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power,
Thy Love, and Thy Way of Life. Amen.

We took a drive to our local nursery where we were
surprised at the new expansion being done on it. Then
with yellow in mind, I came across a trellis yellow Lady
Banks Rose potted plant that I immediately fell in love
with and added it to our cart.

Next was a long walk down several isles and ended
up way in the back of the nursery lot where I had found
OSO Easy Roses before and grabbed another yellow
one.

It's the search, find, walk that are the highlight of each
nursery visit including our favorite staff that greets us with
hugs and smile. It's what keeps the gardener in me enthusiastic
about gardening in sobriety.

Ohhhh my Mom had Lady Banks roses, they were one of my favorites!

Thank you God for an unusual day of waking up on my brothers loveseat after a few hours of sleep, and then just going through the motions of the day, several dog walks, etc. Medication reminders, hydration, reminders about phone calls to make to schedule future medical appointments. It's all part of a routine that I think he's doing so well with, but he's struggling and says he feels like a vegetable. I disagree God, I think he's doing well and improving, You've got him on the right track for healing.

Thank you God for your continuous oversight in everything my brother does and his recovery path, while his surgical team did miraculous work You are always the Master Physician and Healer, that is a fact.

Astro, I continue to pray for Mark daily and he has been in my thoughts throughout the day. Please God, I pray that Mark continues to heal and is able to get his pain level managed. Please look out for him and the hospital staff that provides his care
Thank you God for the sun and warmth yesterday which allowed for me to spend time outside yesterday doing yard work which I would not have been able to do 6 months ago due to medical issues. Thank you God for teaching me to accept the beauty in each day..It is not about external stimuli..although it helps...It is about accepting what the moment is and finding gratitude. I am still a work in progress and am continuing to grow. Thank you.

falling and finally catching up so that I can

Mark is doing sooooo well and I know that's all you, God. Thank you for my government employers who are bending the rules slightly and allowing me to work remotely from my brothers house while I do whatever I can to help and not be in the way. Thank you also God for always juggling my schedule and opening up the doors that allow me to do some of my side work, extra income to pay for the added fuel expenses from all the driving around. Somehow, everything just falls into place, and that too God is all because of you.
