Thanks for the kind thoughts re: Texas. It’s been pretty intense here and for many it still is. A fair proportion of people I know only had power restored on Friday. And now that things are thawing others are losing water as they discover burst pipes. Several of the people we work with who provide residential care to foster children have serious damage and had to get through very rough days trying to figure out how to get food for the kids when there was none to be had, but...

Grateful for our many good fortunes (kept power, heat, Internet/cell the entire time and only lost water for a couple days).
Grateful that I really, really appreciate the beauty of a hot shower and being able to simply flush the toilet as opposed to having to melt snow or find water to flush it.
Grateful to have enough to share, mostly through my neighborhood buy-nothing group.
Grateful for neighbors coming together and getting blankets, towels, firewood, pool water, food, and other necessities to others.
Grateful for the H‑E‑B grocery store chain, the only store with a strong enough supply chain to be open and constantly restocking. They are so innovative and loyal to their communities.
Grateful to be up early and creeping into normalcy. Grateful for all of you.

NL, great to see you and hear that you are ok. We've all been worried about you.
Grateful for a very beautiful day outside! Although we still need a lot more rain, but it sure is a pretty day.
Grateful to have vacuuming on the agenda today, well sort of. My lovely German Shedder almost never stops shedding! But we love him anyway.
Grateful our neighbors shy rescue cat stops over to say hi sometimes. He and Luke even seem to be interested in each other. Luke always wants to sniff him, he's very interested. The cat doesn't mind him, but stays just out of his range. It's cute.
Grateful for a good night's sleep.
Rusty, prayers continue, my friend.
Fearless and Daisy, thinking of you.
Least, so glad to hear you're feeling better and out there walking.
Great to see Deserto! You always have such fun things going on!
Love and peace to all. Have a wonderful Monday.

Grateful to have a new dishwasher set to be installed tomorrow, after doing dishes by hand for the last two months.

I remember 25 years ago, my future brother-in-law came over to our first apartment. He was all of 19, had been living out of his car, and he sniffed at the apartment condescendingly as though merely having appliances was some cowardly acquiescence to a bourgeoise suburban lifestyle. After he explained how our washer and dryer represented a moral failing on our part, he asked if he could do some laundry

Numblady - Good to know things are starting to look up. I hope they can help those stuck with huge electric bills.
Aly - It's sweet that 'The Shedder' & rescue kitty are sort of friendly.
Des - Congrats on the new dishwasher, even if it is a shameful extravagance.
Grateful for the pretty snow - but enough already!?
Grateful dear old February will soon be history.
Grateful for good quality TV shows - very important this past year.
Grateful to turn anger into laughter.
Grateful for every one of you.
