Just finished dinner and OMG am I stuffed. When I quit drinking, my sense of proportion is off.

As much as I want to complain, I realize there are people starving around the world and even in our own back yards. I thought I'd take the opportunity to be grateful for this problem I have.

Now if you'll excuse me I need some fizzy water.

Grateful for the road trip I'm taking with my kids this weekend. Grateful I can take them into a bar and not have my alcoholism kick in.

Grateful to be taking my mom to church later.
Grateful to be sober going into the evening.
Grateful for support when I start to feel like I am struggling. In about a month and maybe 10 days, I'll be a year sober. I'm wondering if my AV is trying to sabotage that. Grateful to realize this and to fight it with everything I have.
Grateful, of course, for all of you and that your lovely gratitudes mean so much to me. ♥

Grateful that I can change course and nothing is set in stone, even if it feels that way right now. Grateful that I know it can and will get better.
