Morning Gratitude ~ Part 50
Grateful that I was allowed to be a passenger on the ride for a crazy up-and-down day yesterday, instead of pressing myself into the driver's seat.
Grateful that February's ending, March is on the way, and I don't have to drink.

Grateful for another day starting with this site and all the uplifting comments.
Grateful that, by being here, I feel the love and dedication of my sober fellows.
Grateful that I will never think of 'scoosch' again in the same way. Thanks! LOL

1. Grateful for Bim's friendship and for giving me new tools for my sobriety tool box when I was struggling.
2. Grateful I don't have to drive in the morning rush with all the snow this morning.
3. Grateful for SR and all the amazing people here.
4. Grateful I am working on being more positive.

Grateful for this site. I am seeing that, over time, it is changing my mind about things in a positive way. I will find that I will be tempted, and then something new will happened that didn't ever happen before. I will think back on you people here. People on day 3's or day 5's, or day 90's. The focus it takes early on. The joy of it as it actually starts to feel possible to break free as time goes on. And these things will lift me. I will stand where once I would have fallen.
I will think of commercials about drinking. I will think of my casual drinking days, and now it sends up red flags for me where before I wouldn't have thought anything of it. Drinking now is the bad thing. Maybe not for some people but now, it all sounds dangerous. At least I am more -- much more aware of how dangerous it is -- how bad it is, at least to me, and to those of you here and it gives me the vision and the objectivity and the strength to say "No". What I read here, as I reflect on it, it builds my character. And building my character is like my fondest dream, for myself and then so that I might shine my light for others.
Again, I am thankful for this site.

Grateful for a beautiful morning in my city with the sun brilliant on the windows of the highrises, sparkling the East River and putting a shine on the patches of snow still on the rooftops.
Grateful that I was successful in contacting someone recommended to me about recovery.
Grateful for the relationships I have with the great minds of SR -- may we grow together over time.
