Bedtime Gratitude ... Part 45 - All Are Welcome
Grateful
For having a lot of time to myself this weekend.
For my health manifestation.
For not watching tv all year, ok a little jealous I can no longer get into it to escape for more than 10 seconds without feeling bombarded, but fack its too unreal for me and can't focus.
For being back on SR and the gratitude list (didn't slip no worries).
For anyone out there struggling. Grateful for your fight. Fight the good one.

Grateful for my family.
Sometimes they drive me to distraction, but then I remember how I had lost all of them in my drinking days....
Grateful for love in my life. ♥

Grateful for an improving attitude.
Grateful for a dog walk and Great Blue Heron sighting.
Grateful to refocus when I go off track.
Grateful everything in my life grows out from sobriety.

Marcher, Astro thanks for the suggestions on my family figuring out and hopefully coming to an agreement on the four of us getting away for a few nights on July 4th.
I get in the blues sometimes when I think about how fast time went, how fast the kids grew up, and how we can't vacation like we used to. When the kids were younger I was making more money and had flexible hours on top of a new home equity loan of $125,000.
We went to Florida three times, saw Disney World, Universal Studios, Blizzard Beach Water Park, Wet and Wild Water Park, Gator Land, Clearwater Beach. Niagara Falls twice, Chicago, Las Vegas, spending nights on Mackinac Island, spending nights at Cedar Point, lots of indoor water parks - Kalahari waterpark in Ohio, Great Wolf Lodge, Splash Village in Frankenmuth, Mi, Wheels Inn in Ontario, Canada. Oh, and a 5 star all you can eat resort in Mexico with gigantic pools and on the beach.
Yes I can honestly say I lived it up while I had the chance without any regrets. I was a sober dad and everyone of these trips was with my wife and two kids without any alcohol involved.
Little did I know the Great Recession was going to hit and I got pay cuts of half of what I was making along with missing paychecks (not getting paid), and finally losing my job by getting laid off.
Other than a few nights camping with my sons once a year the past several years, there have been no vacations or having any real fun as a family.
Grateful I did live it up while I had the chance and did it all while sober and when the kids were young.

FLBeachGuy's comment on tv. It gave me a good laugh. I now what you mean.
A sober sunset tonight.
Also grateful to be making progress in some areas ~ one step at a time.
Grateful that the rain gave me some much-needed rest today.
Grateful to be sober.
Nite all,

"Fun" is what we make it. Camping trips are great. A cheap condo rented on the beach is a luxury.
It's been a struggle to overcome my feelings of self-worth, a lack of identity, and a constant sense of inadequacy. But, I've learned to be extremely grateful for what we do have, rather than what we don't have. That lesson has become priceless.
Grateful to detach when drinking thoughts come.
Grateful to get home before the thunderstorms begin.
Grateful to be home alone tonight.
Grateful to be able to just relax, after some stress and strain, without alcohol.
