Grateful for a mindfulness workshop today, part 2. Grateful I met some good people and talked to others I'd met before. Grateful for the facilitator, she's good.

Grateful my mom's home and I can help her out. I'm cooking her dinner in a little while.

Grateful I'm learning/remembering to pause before I act or open my mouth!

Grateful for the healers in my life this week — Matt, Jennifer, Sandy, Amanda, Shelley, and Sydney. So glad they are in my life and for the therapies/practices that have helped me —ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Spiritual Energy Healing, Somatic Experiencing, nature, meditation/yoga, and body work.

And grateful for cooking sweet & spicy fruit concoctions with Nick Lowe blasting and me dancing and singing along...

Love and hugs,

Grateful to get through a rough day still sober, and still smiling!
Grateful that I know now that so many things are possible even when my head tells me that it's all too hard.
Grateful that the rain has finally stopped after three days of downpour.

Nite all,

Love V xx

Grateful my mom seems to be feeling better. Thank you all and grateful for all the well wishes.

Grateful to start a new workshop on PTSD tomorrow. Grateful to have this weekend to work on a bunch of things/chores I've gotten behind on. Grateful to be sober and putting a lot into my recovery. Grateful to learn that I need to be mindful all the time and trying to make it a habit.

Have a great eve everyone and a great morning to our Aussie friends!

xxoo

I'm finding it helps if I make mindfulness fun. I cultivating child-like (not childish) qualities in my recovery — curiosity, openness, AWE/wonder. Everything can be like, hmm, I wonder what will happen if I do this...and what does this smell like...and, hmmm, what does this FEEL like, etc........

Grateful for mindfulness.

And grateful I planted peas and lupines in my yard today. I haven't grown anything from seeds in over a decade. Whee!!!

Love and hugs,
Eddie

Grateful I have cell phone towers around, as where I was, I had no reception.

Grateful to babysit my niece's kids so she and her parents could go somewhere nice for her birthday.

Grateful I faced something today I have been avoiding for months. Avoiding was making me feel bad about myself but I couldn't seem to overcome it. Finally did.

Thankful for the beauty in spring's Dogwood trees
The Legend of the Dogwood:
Slender and twisted, it shall be
With blossoms like the cross for all to see.
As blood stains the petals marked in brown,
The blossom's center wears a thorny crown.
All who see it will remember Me
Crucified on a cross from the dogwood tree.
Cherished and protected, this tree shall be
A reminder to all of My agony."

Grateful I got on my Beatles Rock Band "drumming" today. I play so much better when I don't watch & think, but listen and FEEL more!

Grateful for George Harrison. I was obsessed with JOhn Lennon for years decades back, before I became obsessed with Phil Ochs. I'm back to loving John again, but appreciating George more. I'm not we would have so much yoga here if not for him. Thank you, George!

Love and hugs,
Eddie

Grateful to get home in enough light to walk the dog in gorgeous weather!
Grateful to see a bunny, swallows and a squirrel, all on the grass together at once.

Grateful the man in the hardware store carried the bag of potting soil to my car.
Grateful he told me to keep the potted flowers I bought, in the store plastic carrier basket, and bring the carrier back next time I come to the store.

Grateful to have moved to a small town where such things happen everyday.
Grateful to have lived in less friendly environments because it allows me to notice and deeply appreciate this, every single day.

Grateful it's Friday and for a yum dinner of poached salmon.

Grateful for a workshop on PTSD this afternoon. Grateful I got a little bit done, but not as much as I'd hoped. Grateful I have tomorrow to work on my ever growing list of chores. Grateful to do them because I'm helping my mom out, who is still pretty tired from being sick in the hospital for over a week. Grateful that time heals.
