Morning Gratitude - Part 38
Morning Gratitude - Part 38
I am the problem
Grateful that when I look in the mirror I realize that I am the problem.
I have been given all of the tools to do the next right thing so I am changing one day at a time.
27 years of sobriety with the same wife and no cheating or lack of trust. No drugs, no nicotine, and a family and friends that love me and I love them.
Grateful to accept my value along with the value of all like me who are sick trying to get well, not bad trying to get good. Thank God.
Grateful to be here this morning feeling the love emanating from all of you spiritual beings here on SR having our human experiences one day at a time.

This morning I really appreciate and am grateful for my sobriety. Grateful that I seem to be slowly letting go of some of the grief and am feeling truly, unforced gratitude.... I am grateful for the opportunity to be sober and how precious it really is.
Still dreading the shopping I have left, but grateful I am able!

Grateful I have 2wks off work.
Grateful I can now start my day by coming here, really helps to get me grounded & realize what's important in life.
Grateful my daughter is feeling better & was able to go back to her place last night. Loved having her here & mothering her, but so nice to have my place to myself again.

Grateful it is Xmas Eve. and all is well with an AA mtg. at 7 am today. My wife has made a huge pan of baked french toast for the eating mtg. tomorrow at 6 am. If you are traveling today I will pray that God see you safely on your journey. Acceptance is the answer to all of my problems today.

Grateful after doing last minute shopping yesterday had enough energy last evening to wrap all the gifts.
Grateful I don't get caught up too much in all the craziness at Christmas: these last 5yrs have taught me that the true spirit of Christmas should be lived each & every day, not just in December.
Grateful for my daughter's struggles that have taught me so much: compassion, forgiveness, humility, and most of all gratitude that she's healthy & alive today with a bright future ahead of her.

Grateful that for Christmas my Dad got me a small plaque with stand
from Lennox that says the whole Serenity Prayer on it.
Grateful for that prayer, as it is teaching me so much. I never realized how wise it was till I stopped drinking for a year. Then slowly over time I have come to deeply appreciate it and see how profound it is.
It works in all situations. It helps me with alcoholism, grief, and now trauma.
It is beautiful.

Merry Christmas everyone as I am up and getting ready for our food AA meeting starting at 6 am and 2 speakers at 7 am. We usually have 100 or more alcoholics in recovery loving, hugging and sharing our experience, strength, and hope. My wife is putting the food in the oven as I speak. Stay sober and safe as we celebrate this very special holiday.
