Grateful for the AN program - I didn't realize how much it's changed my life until I was with family members yesterday & many of them commented at how much better I seem.
Grateful for the juicy turkey cooking in my oven right now. The cat & I are looking forward to a delicious meal tonight.
Grateful for this time off work to rest & recuperate from many things, not just this nasty cold bug.

Fourth Day and so grateful...
This is my fourth day waking up without:
stomach pain
bowel problems
insane thirst
guilt, shame, foreboding
wondering what emails/texts i sent when i was in blackout mode
taking four ibuprofen to calm the pounding in my head
discovering i did, indeed drink both bottles of wine
Instead, i woke up at 8:15 and stayed in bed to finish !READING! a book! I then got up, drank some water and took my dog for a loong walk.
Then came to post here and read the inspiring posts of other dear members.
I am so grateful for this forum! And for the continued strength to recognize how destructive and harmful i had let my drinking become.

Grateful to get through a day of entertaining yesterday where my guests enjoyed the food and company.
Grateful that when AV started and there were open bottles of wine everywhere I picked up my knitting needles instead of a wineglass.
Grateful for the hydration sparkling water with fresh strawberries gave me so that the hangover effect is feeling great today.

To grtgrandpa: your day sounds like a wonderful experience. I especially love the Speaker meetings. I listen to them online as my walking is limited currently. It reinforces what we know and keeps our purpose in front of all else: to stay sober and help others to achieve sobriety (even if they don't think they need it). Have a wonderful day and love your posts. I am a grandma so we share many common things. So far, my Grandchildren have shown no interest in Alcohol, Thank God!!! Ipanema
