Bedtime Gratitude-Part 35- All are welcome!
Grateful for new friends I'm making at SR.
Grateful that I found the courage to speak up about something extremely upsetting and challenging and scary for me. That I spoke my truth even though I was quaking inside. Grateful I could do that and start to build a new foundation for myself. Grateful because in the past I would have instead gotten obliterated on oxy.
Grateful I was brave in telling my truth in a quieter matter today too.
Grateful that I finally started into my mountain of laundry.
Grateful for these soft furry catfriends who purr and who make me laugh.
Just plain grateful.

Grateful to be in bed safe and sober at 9:30 on a Friday night.
Grateful for really nice coworkers.
Grateful my hubby is being patient with my SR addiction.
Grateful for a nice little dinner at Applebees with no alcohol--and actually decent food.

Yeah, IM, one of my first two posts was about my lost voice. Unfortunately, a BIG crash in April 2004 wiped out the first couple of months of my posts. I wonder if there was a psychosomatic component to it then as well...

Grateful I can laugh at you, too, Kevin. teehee.
Grateful...seriously this time...to realize that, as amusing and protective as I found it to be for years, being superior, cynical, and sarcastic no longer serves me.
And grateful for an awesome session with my prana-soma healer. We talked a lot more than usual, but I guess that's what I needed.
Love and hugs,
Eddie

Grateful to drive to the store. Shop for over an hour without running to the bathroom to hit my secret bottle. Driving home in a genuinely happy mood. Did it all sober. No worries about accidents or being arrested.

Grateful my parents are alive and well.
Grateful I was able to spend the day with them looking at beautiful flowers laughing and learning
Grateful I've woken up every morning for 6 days without a hangover or a worry I started a fight with my husband the night before
Grateful I told my very judgemental sister I have given up drinking and she was more supportive than I thought she'd be
Today I am grateful for my health and the opportunity to change my destiny
Some things in life you can not control, but your future has yet to be written

Grateful that tomorrow is Sunday and I get to sleep in and not wake up sick

Grateful I got through my family reunion without a drink.
Grateful I got through my work dinner/dance party at a countryclub without a drink.
Grateful to realize in the past I'd PRE drink for these events. And THEN drink at them.
Grateful to wear a fancy dress, heels, eyeliner, and my moms glitzy jewelry.
Grateful to feel attractive.
Grateful I don't need a partner to feel whole and worthwhile.
Grateful I DO need sobriety to feel whole and worthwhile. : )

Grateful to use a spare table lamp instead of going out and buying another one after my lamp on the wall that I need for reading broke.
Grateful to live within my means.
Grateful to use my movie gift card I got from Christmas on Sat to see the movie "Django Unchained".
Grateful to accept at the movies that some people put their feet up on the chairs in front of them and it's not my job to judge them and to just go on and enjoy my movie.
