Thanks so much, Grace!! I love them birdies. You can see "our" robin below.

Grateful I now know how to take of myself first and set boundaries. My brother was going off about a bunch of stuff and I told him what he needed to do NEXT and said we'd worry about the rest later. Maybe he'll learn something about doing the NEXT right thing.

And grateful for Devo songs on Rock Band. I'm a sucker for "New Wave" music.

Love and hugs,
Eddie

Grateful a friend at work who is two years recovered from alcohol dependence talked to me today about my grief and recovery. I have to deal with Moms jewelry tomorrow with five other sisters and I was already starting to feel upset. This friend reminded me how my grief was complicated by new sobriety, and that I lost Mom and alcohol within a fairly close time frame and that it takes a year of continuous sobriety for my brain to really get back to normal.
Grateful my daughter asked me for advice about her stepdaughter today.
Grateful that she said my 18 month old toddler Grandson is obsessed with a pic of my Mom and keeps carrying it around. Since he can't remember my Mom my daughter thinks he has been seeing my Mom in spirit. We have other reasons to believe this too.
Grateful for the Spirit of Love that lives on.

I was newly sober when my mother died too. I spent the next 3 months digging rocks for my garden wall and planting stuff. You'll be ok. Focus on the good memories.
Grateful i have thick skin or i would have very hurt feelings.
Grateful to get a lot accomplished today
Grateful that i am not a part of others hypocrisy
Grateful to smile.

Grateful to attend my gf's company Christmas party Friday night, it was held in an old library, very classy, lots of people and well done ($$$$$).
Grateful for the '80s' style band that kept the songs crankin', drinking Sprite, coffee, more Sprite and lots of good food.
Grateful I was not tempted by the free booze at the party and my hard cravings of last week have eased up.

Best Wishes.

Grateful for a telephone call that my mom is failing, she tells me fibs.
Grateful that I can move away from a passive aggressive person.
Grateful that one day my skin may be as tough as some.
Grateful that the anxiety didn't turn into something else ..?..
Grateful for the very cold walk that helped me focus.

I'm not ready for bed yet, but thought I better get it out before
I'm so tired that I can't..another Grateful...

Grateful the headache I've had all day and night is sinus related and not hangover related.

Grateful before I drove to meet my sisters to Divy up my Moms jewelry, I prayed to God to remove my resentments, to keep the fact that I know my sisters love me foremost in my mind, to make Mom proud and to help me keep an open heart.

Grateful the meeting went well. Very grateful and surprised that my sisters all said they wanted me to have my Moms original engagement diamond ring and her wedding band that is engraved inside with my parents initials and wedding date in 1951. This means the world to me.

Grateful I was able to choose some of my Moms jewelry to give to my daughter too.

Grateful my Mom loved jewelry as much as I do!

Grateful my sisters don't share my taste so no one but me wanted all the cool vintage pins etc. Lol

Gratefull my Mom is free from earthly burdens, pain and suffering.

Did they play any Devo? Duran Duran? Blondie???? teehee

Grateful to be back in "MY" house with a Christmas tree. I feel like I was displaced the last three years and it's good to be HOME!

And grateful for willingness to answer the phone, to call people, and to share my experience with others. In a word, glad to be useful and to "see how [my] experience can benefit others."

G'night, y'all!
