1. Grateful for summer...when the people in London forget not to talk to strangers and even people on the tube smile lol.
2. Grateful to have a home.
3. Grateful to my uni - Attended the anual Award show recently and was shocked beyond bellief to be called to the stage to accept first prize for Academic Achievemnt at Post Grad level!
4. Grateful for my Grandfather who never once raised his voice or hand to me. Grateful for the chance to be the grandaughter he's always deserved.
5. Grateful, always, for having amazing mates
6. Grateful to The Libs' Music - and for giving me a reason to learn how to keep faith and be patient.
7. Grateful for diversity - My community, we're every race, religion, nationality, age and gender going...makes life exciting, makes ignorance near impossible, shows London ain't all segregated and makes for a damn feast when we all get together and cook up our favourite foods.
8. Grateful for harmonica - Only instrument I can afford and actually hold a tune on...plus it fits in my pocket. Can't ask for much more, huh.
9. Grateful because I noticed last night that I'm not angry. Frustrated, annoyed, irritated at time, sure, but that thing burning in me that I always had to bite back on, has somehow just fizzled out. And I can't quite believe it. All the fist fights and trashing things, trashing myself, all that pure anger just isn't there. I d'know where its gone, but I never thought it would. So grateful that now when I get mad I know why and can address that.
10. Grateful for the invention of the Caffe Creme Frapuccino (with whipped creme). If y'ain't had one get your arse to Starbucks. Seriously, it has to be done.

I'll start early before I forget and fall asleep on Tuesday...grateful forbbe

1. Being excited about adopting my new rescue dog...His name is Sammy...Davis Jr. (but he is a blonde like Bret Michaels....a beautiful little 4 yr. old burebred Pom boy). i pick him up this weekend.
2. setting up the big work to be done on my house...and being calm and sober to remember about all the little details that need to be attended to
3. . i'm not even stressed, i feel almost HAPPY...this is new, very new.
4. NOT procrastinating
5. looking forward to each day, looking forward to sleeping well
6. not being afraid of being by myself..I am quite capable of taking care of myself and can be quite good at it.
7. enjoying my free time and relaxing while sober
8. Patience and silence....not saying anything is saying a lot..give him enough rope and he will tangle and tie himself in great big knots
9. tact, diplomacy and intuition...(my natural clairvoyance)LOL
10. hope that I can finally see the glass is really 1/2 full...maybe.

Wednesday grateful for:

1. Patience
2. sobriety
3. being able to whine and complain...(here anyway)
4. clean cool sheets and a cool shower (in lieu of not having my ac back)
5. having a sense of hope and a glimpse of maybe a better life.
6. trying to close the door on anger and stupid selfish people
7. my stubborness which leads to getting ahead and getting things done...I call it "appropriately aggressive"!
8. pushing back depression and beating it(for now i have kicked it to the curb).
9. not letting anyone take advantage of me....i am compassionate and kind but not stupid.
10, another sober day and night, i had thoughts but I shoved them out with the deoression...and it is getting to be time for bed ....I work in Surgery and the day starts mighty early...i have an OR meeting tomorrow and i couldn't afford NOT to be sober.

1# Grateful the last 24 hours are over. -Feel like John McClane at the end of a Die Hard movie right now. I'm frazzled.
2# Grateful for gratitude lists - A year ago if I was this shattered, confused and angry I wouldn't be calmly sat at a computer earthing out through remembering all the stuff I'm thankful for.
3# Grateful for friends, as always - The way just being around them aleviates the terror my 'To Do' list inspires in me.
4# Grateful for food - Bring on the blueberries. I'm in need of superfood right now.
5# Grateful to have somewhere to shelter from the storm.
6# Grateful to the little girl who pointed and laughed at me this morning (and, in turn made me laugh, despite my anger) when the adults around her saw my crazy hair, heavy eyes and messed up jeans and looked at me like I was scum.
7# Grateful that when things got crazy my first thought was how to deal with this situation and not to go score or just despair - so grateful for that.
8# Grateful that the craziness these days is born of trying to be a productive person and not being an addict.
9# Grateful for hats - without which my hair would, right now, be getting far more funny looks.
10# Grateful my bed's waiting for me at the end of today.

Tuesday's gratitude:

1. Youtube videos....so i like Lady Gaga parodies, shoot me.
2. the ability to write large checks without blinking an eye or gulping
3. anticipation of the new furnace/hepa-filter-AC compressor and finally ordering what I want-major move on the compressor to make way for the stonepaver deck...which is maintenance free!!! no more waterproofing and staining. I will never have dry heat again either in the winter, i am having a waterline run off the furnace for a humidifier!!yea!!
4. a good bronzer so people don't shout FLOUNDER when they see my legs.
5. my little dog, my loving kitties who are so patient.
6. Glee
7. my thoughts for a happy future
8. my job, my students
9. the ability to sell myself and spin...(yes, even in medicine you have to do that)
