From personal experience, I will not date an addict ever again, in recovery or not. The risk and heartache to hope them not relapse again is outweigh the love you give and receive way too much.

Hey SR,
Just my 2cents on dating....
My daughter, while in rehab, (he was in a sober living house) met her now BF. He has over a year recovery from meth.. She now has 6 months in " with a plan" recovery. When they come over, all they talk about is what step from their NA meetings they are on, positive stuff and are owning up to what has happened "pre recovery". They don't associate with using friends (they say) they are very clear on their recovery plans and are enjoying that the "mind fog" has lifted. (They both are drug tested often per their recovery plans and court plans)
I'm ok with their relationship and the love I see between them.

Yep. Everyone is different, and every relationship is different. We hope things will go just great when one or both partners are in recovery from addiction, and often they do.
Just as often, they don't.
Just advising caution and going slow in any new relationship.
We know from so many stories on this site that things can start out wonderfully and end badly.
