I'm so sorry, Lotusangel. I know that there is no pain greater than losing your child. MIRecovery's word are very accurate. it will never be fine, but in time you will not be consumed by this every moment. Remember that whatever way helps you through the grief is "right" for you, and please don't feel bad to reach out for help, to say, I can't do this today, to do whatever helps you. Sending prayers and hoping you are surrounded by love and support and can treasure the memories of your precious son.

Thank you all for your kind words. Only my SR friends and family can truly understand my pain. Today is my granddaughter's 8th birthday and I put on a brave face because I don't want her special day to be tarnished by grief. It is especially difficult to celebrate without her daddy since this was a highlight for him, reveling in the joy of celebrating his daughter's day.
I look forward to some day meeting my son in heaven and knowing that he is finally at peace. Although my heart is broken, I wish everyone on this site well and maintain hope in my heart that all of your loved ones will be success stories that you can share with me.

My heart breaks for you. I know that we all know that losing them is a real possibility. Please don't blame yourself for any of this and please get professional help and talk to people. I wish that my sister in law did. We still miss them both.

I'm so sorry you lost your son and your granddaughter lost her dad. I'm positive he'll be around for quite a while, for as long as his daughter needs him. My thoughts and prayers for all his loved ones.
