Hersheys product look nearly identical to drug bags used to sell powdered drugs

New mint packets being sold by The Hershey Co. look nearly identical to the tiny heat-sealed bags used to sell illegal powdered drugs like crack, heroin and cocaine and glorify the drug trade, a Philadelphia police official said.

Ice Breakers Pacs, nickel-sized dissolvable pouches with a powdered sweetener inside, hit store shelves in November. The packets, which come in blue and orange plastic slide-up cases, are similar enough to drug packets that a child familiar with the candy could mistakenly swallow a heat-sealed bag of drugs, Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector William Blackburn said. “It glorifies the drug trade,” he said. “There’s really no reason that a product like this should be on the shelf.”

For those of you, who like me find this to be objectionable .. I would like to encourage you to click on the link and go to herseys site .. enter your birthday and fill out a complaint letting them know how you feel and I also urge you to boycott Hersheys products until they remove the above pacs.

Just rcvd. email from Hersheys stating being forwarded to their marketing dept. I imagine all have received one. I have mailed this info to the county DEA and the Tri-State authorities and to my lawyer who is a state representative. I can just picture a "user" using this to store their drugs and there little kids picking it up not knowing any better!!!!! Just makes me MAD!!!!

I have seen breath mints in containers that look like birth control pills.
I have seen the glass tube roses in convenience stores.
Now, Americas own chocolate in on making money in after market drug trade?
I am MAD!
I sent a note to let them know how mad I am.

I sent them a letter and asked them if it was going to contain a razor blade and a straw also?
(Yes, I really did)....

(Oh and if a child confuses this with a bag of drugs, I hope it was worth the dollar to them)

On a good note, I saw on the news last night that they were not going to continue with the product and that Hersheys did not mean to, I don't know cause the confusion or whatever.... But from what they said the police departments caused such an uproar in most states it is off the markets.

In the end, the voice of the consumer is what should get heard by any company hoping to stay in business.

Well done, everyone, and hopefully the airhead who came up with that idea will no longer be working there.

Hugs

Well I was thinking last night maybe Hersheys just is a super drug free environment, see what happens when you have drug testing at work?

LOL

There's always something to worry about...

I Sent In A Reply Myself. Just Makes Me Sick To My Stomach. I Will Let Any Of Them Just Come Live My Life For One Day And Deal With The Crap That We Have To Deal With. They Would See What Drugs Do. It Dont Just Hurt The Ones Taking It. It Hurts The Ones Not Taking It. This World Is Something Else. They Knew Better Than To Come Up With Something Like That. Free Advertising Being The Key Here. They Knew What They Were Doing!!!! Its All About The Dollars This Day And Time.

I did it, too!!!! I am just so upset at the folks that are so all consumed to make the almighty dollar at the level of inticing young children or even society at a whole to buy their products and continue to believe truth is what counts.

I don't believe there is truth in our government anymore than there is in our society and big business...issues!!!

This is a little off topic, but has anyone seen this energy drink called "cocaine"?

Cocaine comes in red cans, with the name spelled out in what are meant to resemble lines of white powder.

When i first saw this in the store, it made me feel kinda sick. Read more here...
