Mine used to drive around for hours.. I know because he would come home from the local crack house (think 8 miles away) and have put over 400-600 miles on the car. When I asked why so many, he would say that he got hungry and stopped at mcdonalds.. I said where, in colorado?!?!?
My exhusband used to go to another addicts apt. who lived not too far from his parents. But for a period of time he pretty much lived out of his car when he disappeared for a night or a couple of days then he would come home to recoup then back out again.
I still haven't fully put into perspective everything he has done to me and to us and to himself. I think I am mentally blocking it out.

Mine would hide under a bush....hide in a closet of our old abondoned house, just sit in garage for hours ect, play with candle wax. Drive around for hours, Im sure the list goes on. He's even journaled, made lists of how to build a door frame ect while high on crack.

Old but relevant. Funny thing is that several have mentioned cocaine addict and the addict/alkie here uses stimulants along with alcohol and steroids. And has admitted to being around big time cocaine users. And he'll disappear for weeks on end. Sometimes get upset if you don't call at least once a week and others get irritated because no one has nothing new to say so did you bother calling. He complains about money yet seems to find enough to stay away from free food, room and board for weeks on end.

other bs
It's not where they go it's when they come back and expect to see things they exact same way they were weeks ago. They could drop something on the middle of floor and get upset at you for moving it-you messed with my stuff. Or they show up after mid night and wonder why you are not jumping for joy treating them like a conquering hero.
