Jo, you have the best Christmas spirit.
I remember that story of you sleeping by the light of the Christmas tree every year at this time, and it just makes me .
I would never try to bring you down, since you are such good light in my life.
You would love this State park that's down the street from where we live.
They decorate miles and miles of it with Christmas lights.
It's just gorgeous to drive through.

Idget -

Thank you for looking hard enough and for seeing something that I had not. Yes, I am horribly upset that this year I have lost the Christmas Spirit. I have read each response..and have decided that even though I don't have the great room this year, I can still get a small(ish) tree and decorate it in a fashion that suits me. Normally there would be all the small, childlike decorations from years gone by..but this is a whole new time for me. After yesterdays rant and pout I had a good long think on things and have decided that what is important right now is ME...so I am going to go through all my boxes and hideyholes and find all costume jewelry that I have collected over the years....A real passion of mine...and use that to decorate the tree.

Although it is of course tempting to continue to wallow just so I get the whole Dickins play line by line...LOL...I think I am over my pout.

Thanks all.

Good for you Mom, that's the spirit.
Truth be told, I wasn't looking forward to having to don the Carol Kane garb to do the Dickens thing.

But I would have done it for you.
"Christmas is not in tinsel and lights and outward show.
The secret lies in an inner glow.
It's lighting a fire inside the heart.
Good will and joy a vital part.
It's higher thought and a greater plan.
It's glorious dream in the soul of man."

I refuse to let an "A" ruin MY holiday!!!! I will decorate, BUT, I have one problem. We have a 6 month old dog, and I don't know what she will do with the tree, so I will probably wait a while to put it up. I have my lights on outside already though.

GABE!!....Carol Kane is one of my favsss. Of course, my favorite line out of that whole movie is when Bill Murry gets clocked by the toaster.."The Bi*** hit me with a toaster!!" That line just cracks me up every single time I see it. Great..not I gotta go dig out Scrooged to get that out of my head.

P.S. I bet you woulda been a knockout Carol Kane.
