I have been procrastinating on this thread....I have to say after careful review, sadley enough I have been all 3 at one time or another in my relationship with the exA. How humiliating!!!! But on the upside, I will no longer tolerate an A or any type of unstable personality in my life anymore. So I would have to say I have learned a great deal in all of those pathetic roles I played.

In the past I would have done all three at some point. Today I am mostly through with the Rescuer and the Provoker but the Martyr is the hardest one to let go of. I know that my words and actions sometimes tells him I am ashamed of him. And the truth is, I am. Now I seem to get just plain tired and sad when he has one of his episodes.
