KT Tunstall - Miniature Disasters

Enjoying (if you can call it that!) all these songs so much. Such a mixture of grief and hope.

The YouTube version of 'I can't find my way home' is an earlier version. On the album there were some additional lyrics added and the song is more emotional and haunting.

In particular there was a line added that struck a nerve with me. It goes: ' And I ain't done nothing wrong but still I can't find my way home'.

That summed everything up for me in my life at that time.

Before I started recovery when I would hear them sing 'somebody must change' I thought they were singing about my AW. After I got into recovery I realized they were saying I've got to change.

I listened to that song for years especially during the bad times and never realized they were showing me the way out.

Your friend,

Love this thread! Oh, and Walk Off the Earth does a great version of Love the Way You Lie, Love The Way You Lie - [Walk off the Earth] Eminem Cover - YouTube

One of my fave's was Stay by Sugarland, Sugarland Stay, live at the CMA Awards - YouTube I always imagined that the other woman was really the bottle.

I think it might have been me that posted Breathe. I love that song.

Sorry, never did figure out how to do the fancy link stuff

Cheers,
Chick

Your friend,
I saw Stevie Winwood sing this live a few years ago with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers as his back up band. Very haunting and close to the album version, which I still have on vinyl here somewhere... One of those great songs that resonates differently, but always powerfully, at different stages of life.

I didn't even think about Alanis! "Not the Doctor" is one of my favorites of hers.

Hole - Dying - Youtube

This song is so powerful to me....and after you've listened to it once from your perspective, listen to it again from the perspective of the Alch in your life. It becomes so much more tragic and heartbreaking.
