Your brother wasn't alone because he was loved. He took the precious gift of your love with him every day, and now he takes it with him forever.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Littlefish, I read in a book that death is beautiful and comforting to the one who has died. But for those left behind, it is sad, and painful. I also read that the dead don't miss us. That they are happy and fine where they are.

Take comfort knowing that your brother Larry is in a much healthier place. No longer living in a car with two flats, or smelling like urine. He is with GOD where there is no pain or suffering. I too lost my brother to the disease of addiction. He like your brother was kind, intelligent, good looking, and a father of a beautiful daughter. It's a shame what all of these substances and chemicals do to the human brain. They should be banned off of the earth. Alcohol is pure poison to the human body and brain.
I'm very sorry for the loss of your brother, and I can honestly say I understand what your feeling. But, I am so happy for Larry. For my faith tells me he is in a special and beautiful place where there is no hurt or pain and no suffering what so ever.
I hope you find peace with Larrys loss. My heart goes out to you and your family at this sad time.

I understand your loss

Even when we know and fear that our loved one may die from addiction,
it is still extremely hard to accept when it happens. There is no more chance
or hope for them to embrace a life without addiction and for our relationship to be close.
It is heartbreaking for us who loved them. " Rest in Peace Larry "

At 1st it will be sad to remember the time you had with him last summer and hard to understand how just a yr. later that he is gone. Hopefully, time
will allow you to find comfort in the memories.

I lost my only child to addiction in June 11. My grief is more intense now.
I suppose with time We can integrate our grief and find some peace in our loss.

You will miss him and will always wish you could have saved him but don't fret....He is safe, no more sorrow no more pain, the former things have passed away...

Spiritual Seeker, I am filled with heartache and sorrow when I think of what you are going through. I too am the mother of an addict. And like you he is my only child. I totally understand the love a mother has for her only child.
I don't have the words to comfort you. Only GOD can comfort you at this time. I just want you to know I feel your pain and loss, and wish there were something I could do to help you at this terribly painful time. I want you to know that I am thinking of you and I am praying for you and your son. :ghug3
