A big crisis, but I'm not drinking!
(((least))) i check in each day for news and I'm so sorry you & Jack are still separated.- Hopefully he found a place to hide out & stay warm and dry. Maybe under a porch or in a wooded area?
Did you ever contact a sorority or fraternity and ask them to take this on as a service project? Please do if you haven't. You need boots on the ground and lots of them! I've been involved in many rescues and the more people you have the better even though Jack is shy of others. Encourage people to call you immediately at a sighting instead of approaching him.
Maybe also approach the college admin. office and ask what schools what might have the most interest in helping you. Vet tech? Journalism? Animal lovers in the J dept. might help you with advertising, flyers, tv or radio alerts. It will help generate interest if Jack has a medical condition. IMO people pay more attention if the animal has special needs. Even if he's healthy, include in your flyers that he's elderly and requires special food & supplements. Anything to help people remember special Jack!
Agree with others that he's staying close to a food source. If you have a dog rescue or shelter in your area, maybe ask them if they can share some of their volunteer names with you or ask their volunteers directly to help you in the search. Using a live trap sounds scary but it works if the animal is hungry enough. Again, a local shelter may let you use/show you how to use one of their live traps/cages if they have one.
These are all methods used with rescue groups I've been involved. Hope something helps and best case scenario is that today is the day you find Jack!
Thinking and praying for you & Jack! I would be heartbroken if one of my fur kids went missing. You are doing a great job and thank you for showing me/us how to do this Sober.

Bandicoot has some great advice to help in the search for beloved furry Jack.
Coping with such a difficult time, staying sober and not losing the hope are surely hard but you are doing it.
Sad to hear you have not yet been reunited and hope that a conclusion is soon in coming for you Least.
Hope and peace for you and all our furry friends tonight
Driving my wagon of hope through beautiful views on my road to myself

No word so far today. Keep the prayers coming that someone is able to catch him. If he's still got his harness on, he has his ID tags. He's just so shy and afraid it's almost impossible to get near him.
Please God, guide Jack back home. I miss my old man.

Yes, I have Billie, my other dog, and four cats; Freddie, Lily, Zippy, and Franny.
I am praying I find Jack today. It's only 12 days til I leave for CA to visit my daughter. I've got to find him before then. I need a miracle...

Least, I keep checking this thread every day and praying for you and Jack. I assume you've contacted local vets and the SPCA / Animal shelters?
My brother found a lost dog. His local Craig's list has a section for lost animals and that is how he reunited that dog with its owner.
