o/t I am technically illiterate !!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to start to post pics of my old house and new house, and I just cant do it. I know I did it once before but the pics were too big. I don't have photobucket or tiny pics or any of those other places that you can go to. So what is the easiest way to do this. I just know that I take a digital pic, I can then download it into my pics on my computer, that is all I know. I am a computer idiot. Can anyone help with the easiest way. Yanno, something an idiot can comprehend.

The easiest way (though you can only do one pic per post) is to click "go advanced" and then click the paperclip (attachment). Then you select the file on your computer and upload it.

I am going to bed soon, hope you get it--I wanna see your pics!!

you may not be able to attach pics if they're over a certain size.

the link I gave you is as clear and basic as we can make it Amy

I tried the first one, I am a failure, think I need to go to sleep and try to work on this tomorrow. It just keeps telling me that the download failed.

I think they are failing because the downloads are too big, but I have no idea of how to re-size them. Is there a program that I can download where I can re-size the pics. I don't know what I am using now, will have to check.

editing to add: I open with windows live photo gallery, and I don't even know if that would make a difference

Resizing is even trickier lol

you could try either hosting them another site like photobucket, as per the link, or what might be the easiest: creating an album and posting them directly to your profile page

go to User CP>pictures and albums> add album> then upload the pics to there?

Noticed this looks too big, will keep working on this. But I will figure this out.

After I figure this out will need to take more pics of the after work, and then will post them, probably on Monday.

Oh, this is the old kitchen

Should I try making them smaller? What is the suggested sizing for posting pics here?

I gotta wait til Monday!

Okay, over reaction done, that is an excellent picture.
wow, what a lot of wood!
I do remember when this was all the rage.

Can't wait for the "after" pictures.

PS
I live in an apartment, with the cheapest appliances ever made,
I love your stove and refrigerator!
They look so new and shiny and functional.
LOL

Hi wicked. The stove and refrigerator are mine. The ones that came with the house were not usable.

Still trying to size down the pics more though.

Very nice, amy!! I noticed that if I click the pic, it brings me to the whole gallery of your pics--before and after. Your kitties are very cute.

I love the slate backsplash! I have been debating my own backsplash and after seeing the exorbitant price for the mosaic that matches my floors, I found a nice subway pattern mosaic at Lowe's that is VERY close to what I have on my floors. Tile guy agrees that it will look great. Still have to pick out the countertop material. I am getting laminate but trying to decide on color/pattern--just ordered some samples.

I love your countertop--what is that made of? I have very dark wood cabinets, so I need lighter colors for countertop/floors etc. My kitchen is a very small galley style, so lighter colors will make it look a little bigger/more open.

I think you've done some AMAZING things so far--oh, and I love your wood stove, too, and the tile around that.

I love love love the cabinets - been eyeing them myself. And the grey color is a perfect compliment to the warm wood tones. Fantastic Amy! I am so jealous!!!

oh wow Lexie, it brings you to all my pics? The back splash in the kitchen is stone. Got that at Lowes, the countertop is granite. Cabinets are hickory.

I did see the subway tiles at lowes. I was thinking of doing that in my downstairs bathroom.

So this could be real easy. All I really have to do then is post the one picture and if you click on that it will show all the pics in my photobucket. Wow !!!!!! Glad I am just using photo bucket for this, and that I didn't download any naked pics in there. (lol)

oh, and the laminates are so much better nowadays. They look great. I went with the granite because I found a granite company in NJ where the price of it wasn't that much more then what the laminate would have cost me.

I spent a few hours in the granite yard looking at thousands of slabs. My biggest problem was that I had to marry the oiled bronze look and the stainless look, and also the grays, blacks and brown. It wasn't a well thought out project, but it did work out.
