Amy! I love the wood and the cabin feel. My cousin's house in the mountains of CO looks a lot like this: a good use of slate, dark gray colors, and the light pine wood blends well with the stone.

Your cats are adorable, too! HUGS!

Love the house, Amy! But I am totally biased - grew up in a log home here in Alaska. My parents still own it...

And I am still drooling over the hickory cabinets in the kitchen with the gray accents. I LOVE it!!! But not sure if they fit my traditional house. Hhhhmmmm...something to ponder as I save for that major reno.

My contractor was down today. He was helping out with the stone work and the grouting. He really wants to get my house done.

I think I was charged a lot less for this then what it should have cost. My contractor is young, just really been getting into the business. I think that he thought this would be a week project or less. It really is a very long process. Especially if you care about your work. So he pays the masonry guy a daily salary. This is the first masonry job my contractor has done. So I benefited on it with the low estimate he gave me for it, but he benefited by it, because of all the people that have stopped here saying they also needed some work done. He even had people calling him, just to tell him how nice this job was coming out, and that if they ever needed word done, that they wrote down his number.

Hey, part of the reason I get such a good price from my friend is that he has gotten several jobs based on my referral. My neighbors are having him do an estimate for their hardwood floors. It's a win-win. Everyone who's used him has loved his work and at least one person has had him back to do more.

LOL, he doesn't have a formal "business" (he has a regular day job) but his wife had business cards and a T-shirt with a logo she had done. I told him I want a T-shirt--for $6K jobs you should get a T-shirt. He said for $6500, I could get a hoody!

I also told my contractor that I wanted one of his shirts. They are black sleeveless with really nice green writing on them. And you are right, he does get a lot of business because of me. He had a local commercial, and used my kitchen. (lol)

Can't wait to see his next commercial !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
