EQ my dog seems to be feelin a little better each day. It's long 4 month process. I'm having to sedate her some in order to keep her calm so her knee can heal properly. She gets her staples taken out on Monday and then another week we can start doing 15min walks!

Oh goodness bf you are a good Mom.
If my dog Baxter was in that situation I would be a basketcase.
I think I may be pathologically attached to my dog. And he to me. Lol

Thanks EQ. Even tho we don't do those type of surgeries at my gen practice I think having some knowledge def helped and there's isn't anything I wouldn't do for my dog. She is such a huge part of my sobriety and we are like a team. When cravings hit I always think well if I drink then I can't take care of my dog properly.

I don't know if any of our early class is still out there??!!

Because I wanted to announce that (as I only wrote and dreampt of just a year ago) I now have a buyer for my house and a condo with a lake view accepted my contract to move into.

It is only because of 17 months of sobriety that this happened (and I am dumbfounded that it has) and I only have that sobriety because of this class who I depended on hourly round the clock for a very long time.

I just can't believe I have been able to stay away from that pit and function AND take risks to change to boot! It is literally unbelievable to me. I cant say that enough.

It is like a had a dream, and in it, I took a quantum leap.

Thank you my wonderful classmates. I love you all so much and hope you are well and are out there living the life that was waiting for you all along .

Thank you D.
You were right.
Everything DOES change with sobriety.

(Well Okay maybe I don't know if those were your exact words lol, but that is what I inferred. Lol)

I have a suggestion which may or may not help but it is worth a try.

About a month into sobriety I read the book "Alan Carr's Easy way to stop drinking". Honestly it completely took away my urges and positive associations to drinking for several MONTHS. And I'm not the only one who it worked for.

I still felt awful having to face life (you know, the one I was drinking to avoid dealing with) BUT I knew I had to face things a piece at a time because drinking was taken off the table as an option for awhile.
