Thinking of getting sober again.

Been drinking hard again. Making my anxiety hellish. Afraid of how my anxiety will be when I stop also. Gets very bad the first few weeks of detoxing. Been drunk every day for about 3 years this time around

I know. I’ve done the medical detox thing a few times. The last one was pretty brutal. Was sober 3 months though after that. The longest I’ve been sober as an adult

You got this!

Relapsing is a part of this sick and twisted life of alcoholism. Thinking of quitting is a healthy step in the right direction, and we have all been there and done it numerous times. A severe panic attack was the key to my sobriety. I used alcohol to suppress the edge, but later found out from counseling that I was only making it worse. I still find myself anxious, but my life without alcohol is 100 times better. Filling the voids that alcohol fills with healthy hobbies and activities is important. The storm doesn't last forever. Best of luck to you!
