scared about events over weekends

so when I get drunk, which is normally only on weekends, but I've seen that means nothing, I usually drink to the point of saying dumb/weird things, dialing, fb messaging (n I've been blocked/defriended a few times), etc. I'm scared, almost to the point of paranoia, that I'm gonna get in trouble with school. But I know this weekend I remember everything, but because in the past I've literally blacked out, I get scared and am almost like waiting to get in trouble. Is this paranoia common among alcoholics?

I believe whether someone drinks on the weekends only, certain days, or everyday, if he consistently does bad/dumb things while drunk, he's an alc. No more lying to myself that bc I'm not a daily drinker like my dad (who is a hi-functioning doctor), I'm not an alc.

Well, not sure how common it is but I definitely experienced it, and I found that staying sober and working a program of recovery helped to alleviate anxiety and paranoia.

I'm glad you've joined us and hope that you decide to give sobriety an earnest effort.

Welcome rocketman

It was certainly common for me too. When I stopped drinking so did the pananoia.

LOL, Dee.

Welcome rocketman.

The crazy thoughts are part and parcel of alcohol abuse. I didn't drop my paranoia and delusional fears for a few weeks after I stopped drinking.

Just yesterday I asked a woman I know in AA, "How crazy was I?"

Pretty crazy.
