Does your face look different?
i couldnt tell ya if my face looked different when i got sober for 2 reasons:
when i did look at my face in the mirror, i had beer goggles on.
when i didnt have beer goggles on i wouldnt look in the mirror.

Holy Moly!! This post is from 2005! Someone went digging
Yes I see a huge difference in how I look, dress and act after only a few months of not drinking.
Instead of trying to hide myself with clothes I now express myself.
I look and feel so much better and I no longer shy away from the camera....unlike the past few years where I looked so bad that I HATED having my picture taken.
I can't wait to see what a year sobriety looks like on me!

I've also noticed a drastic reduction in the bloating on my face after the last 15 days being sober. I've also lost about 6 pounds in the last 2 weeks! Need to lose more though, used to be thin, but gained 60 lbs from drinking over the last 3 years. I was one of those that got the munchies after drinking and would eat everything in sight. Ugh, don't want to go back to those days.
I'm planning on starting exercise soon. I have so much extra belly fat right now that it's hard to bend over and things, but I'll do what I can. Can't wait to shed all those lbs. And I can't wait to see myself a year from now. Looking forward to all the positive changes.

flutter - that's an amazing before & after!
My face quickly changed too, but it wasn't a problem with redness that I had. Rather, I always seemed to have an ashen-pale look to my face, even in the middle of summer. After being sober for a bit some healthier colour returned to my complexion. Oh, and my face (and whole body) leaned out quite a bit. How much of a bonus is THAT?

Approaching 160 days sober...13lbs lighter and yes my face looks so much better. Amazing I am still eating anything I want , have not cut out any food whatsoever , think I may get to skinny if I start watching what I eat

It'll be 2 months tomorrow. I saw someone this morning that I hadn't seen in 4 or 5 months. She said she didn't even recognize me. I wasn't sure how to take that comment, but I think it was meant as a compliment. She noted that I had lost a lot of weight (14 lbs.) and said she liked my new hair style.
I think I look different, too; my face isn't so red and puffy for one thing. Funny, my usual makeup doesn't work for me anymore - I'm going to start experimenting with some new, lighter stuff.

This is an old thread, but I might as well chime in and say that my face looks different as well.
Unfortunately, I have rosacea so my face will always be a little redder than it should be, but it no longer looks bloated and puffy, and that's not just my opinion.
