Does the Bus do tours of Christmas lights in the neighbourhood?

I just spent a happy hour or so plotting a list of locations of decorated homes for me to drive by one evening.

Lathes are fun, I don't have one but I have used them before. I like to make all kinds of stuff, boxes, cabinets, shelfs, hangers ect... I've always had an interest in wood working but never really did much Too busy drinking). I started a few years ago by re-organizing my garage and collecting some tools. I'm teaching myself as I go along. I have my eye on more tools I'll want/need (jointer, dust collector, a better bandsaw) The whole idea is to be setup with a nice little shop and some skills for when I move into retirement. I have no idea what I'll be making then but the idea of nice little etsy or online shop appeals to me. I'm doing this with my sober savings. (That and my other hobby, the ukulele).

At the moment, I'm working on a standing shelf that my wife wants for on top of her night table. I'm making it from a rough cut piece of walnut. The first 'real' wood project since shop class in high school. I'm nearly done, just a few more coats of shellac.

For my daughter, I'm making a wall mount from an old appreciation award plaque, for a deer skull that she acquired. Mahogany I think. And on deck are a few more ukulele hangers from birch plywood.

Oh look at the time! gotta go.

On the bus!

On the Christmas lights tour bus, thanks Caramel!

Apparently there are limousine tours offered, of course.

STdragon, that is awesome. My husband..when he has time which hasn't been in a long time does a lot of wood working he has built many things including a cedar strip canoe. I had to help him steam bend the wood. I have been trying to teach my self guitar..That is not going very well. LOL

On the bus. It snowed a bit so I am bundled up.

Good luck with the pet sitting Purps. I hope you get a decent tip.

I'm impressed with the woodworking skills on this thread.

On the bus too! SG, Yes, I have light, wavy hair, when I was younger it was more reddish/gold blonde, as I get older and with a little help from the hair dresser, I will wear it more blonde (at least until my sister got her hands on it, but that will be remedied soon). But my eyes are green. I'm the only only in my family with green eyes, except my Italian grandfather. Everyone else is blue eyed.
Genetics, etc are so interesting to me.
My internet went out for a few days, so glad to be back and hope you all are well.
Love and peace to all! 💗☮💫

Loving the idea of an Etsy shop for your hand made treasures Dragon. It’ll keep you busy in retirement, I’m sure.

Alpine helping make the canoe must’ve been very satisfying. All the best with your guitar lessons.

Dragon, I have not made any projects since I made a wooden lamp in junior high wood shop class. I thing it might still be buried in my parent's garage somewhere.

Best wishes for a nice Christmas Eve all!

Oh a cedar strip canoe is so cool! I thought really hard about buying a kit and building one, but I'd have no use for it and don't think I could sell it for what it would cost me. Plus I'm not so confident I have the skill to pull it off.

Keep up the guitar, practice every day even if only for 5 minutes. My ukulele instructor would say 5 minutes a day is much better than half an hour a week. Best time to practice is is in the evening before bed time. While you sleep, your brain re-enforces those connections.
