I'd like to see them do it up north here in the Husdon Bay with real polar bears around.

I think Boxing Day is the tradition here, not by me though unless someone pays for me to fly to the Caribbean.

Only if we can find someone brave enough to shave them first.

Happy new year PheonixJ!!!!

Remember Y2K? When everthing was suppose to shutdown? Power grids failing, planes falling out of the sky, anarchy?

I was working front line IT. Everything was patched and ready to roll. I was monitoring systems as the clock ticked over. Much ado about nothing.

Yes Dragon I remember that Y2K period! People were buying extra batteries, canned foods, extra water... Just in case everything shut down. Certainly one of the biggest hoaxes that I can remember! But at the time the feeling was real. There was a fear that something bad was going to happen when the clock went from 1999 to 2000!!!

2019 Happy Birthday New Year 2019

was thinking back to 1999 too.. this morning .. Pop called at 3:30pm
Mom and Him on bus to go to a party in Minnesota.. sounded great. what a trip... just as they were leaving he drop the last silver dollar in a big machine and hit the 250,000.00 jackpot.. took 2 hours to go thro paper work back then. bus was full of seniors that wanted to go home and go to bed. driver would not leave without Pop and Mom. Mom got on sat down she was a mess. hahahh Pop held up his hands with 100 dollar bills one for each person on the bus. they just cheered... when they hit Menomonie the Colonial café came into sight. sun coming up lights going on inside and Breakfast on me Pop shouted everyone piled into the café ... he called all of us kids by 11am and sent check by Jan 10 1999 for 2500.00 each . their 50 annivsary was August 1999 .. our air fare was paid for.. iam the oldest and hold memories tight.. Pop was like that too.. he turned 70 oct 1999 fell and was gone by Nov 22 1999 .... yep my Pop.. yep my Pop what would he think of all of the world now.. well tonight Dec 31 2018 I walk into our casino with my eddie lee and he will have 50.00 and I will too. maybe one of us will walk out with some jingle too.... My Pop.. its hard kids and beans .... some times miss him so much it hurts hard to be the oldest and even on Face Book people that knew him look at my photos of this Christmas 2018 and say golly ardy you look more like your Dad every year.. Proud of that He was good looking man that had a heart of gold .. just did not know how to raise 4 daughters in 1960-1970's and not be the Drill Instuctor.. the Poppa Bear the DI.. but I have given good value to my kids and they reflect me and my Pop and Mom. when I am gone and they are 89 they too will hold each other tight and raise a toast to mom and Grandpa and life that was so great..

So Happy New Year kids and beans on the bus the sober bus.. love you all so much and hopes of a better tomorrow 2019.. be safe and hug your family.. ardy...

Just for the record, this is the untouched picture fron Sydney Australia on New Years eve 2019.
They have used about eight tonnes of fireworks to produce 100,000 pyrotechnic effects!
Pretty cool PJ!

Happy New Year to all the Sober Buskateers now!
