What I did to stay sober today

I have had a raw vegetable juice to support liver function and general wellbeing.

I have eaten well and had a 1/2 hr walk to practice some mindfulness.

I have taken part in SR

I have been honest about what is going on for me with someone I trust and haven't burnt out of my life.

I haven't consumed any alcohol thank god

I challenged the dialogue in my head that tells me I'm worthless...my head got me into this mess so why should I trust it presently??

I am grateful to be a member of SR....thanks

Vandermast

Same.

I've read several articles stating red beets are excellent for your liver as well as overall health.

My go to juicer recipe:

Apples
Ginger
Red Beets
Cabbage
Kale

I am going to share this as an ongoing thread in the hope that it may help someone else as well as myself......so here is what I have done so far today to stay sober.......

raw juice yet again....always in the morning and non negotiable.

screamed into my pillow for a while this morning because the vulture on the end of the bed was awake before I was......

spending time with a special person who understands me is non judgemental and even laughs at the demented crap my alcoholic head can conjure....

organising some work for later in the week, and practising gratitude for the fact I still have a job......cos ive lost a few due to drinking or related complications.

played some guitar and listened to some good folk and punk rock.

if anyone would like to share what they have done to remain sober today it would be really useful for me, and by sharing we can help each other. by all means please add something.

thanks

Vandermast

Today was an AA day for me. Went to a new (for me) group in a new town. Turned up early and met some real nice folk. Stayed and fellowshipped for a half hour or so afterward. Strong meeting. Contributed something, learned something, came away glad that I went and still convinced I am on the right track.

Tomorrow may be beach and swimming, but I will check whether my sailing buddies on another boat need a hand with some mantenance first. Maybe I will find my way to another meeting in a day or two. Meantime, I will try and practice the steps in all my affairs.

heres what I did today to contribute to my sobriety:

I have stayed home this morning and kept safe as the urge to drink has been quite strong and insistent.

I had something decent to eat and have spent considerable time on here.

I will head out around lunchtime and make some financial amends by paying back a debt.

I will treat myself with some compassion and empathy despite the ongoing garbage that my head throws at me.

Thanks

V

I too have found that raw veggie juice has been helping with my recovery. It gives me a burst of energy in the morning in a different way than coffee (which I have daily also)
Music has been a huge part also, I love folk music, indie rock and punk rock.
Today to stay sober I distracted myself with cooking a great meal.
Spent some extra time on myself..did a skin care mask, put on make up, styled my hair.
Took a walk in our “cold” California weather.
Took a long bath and now I’m in bed watching a comedy special on Netflix and checking SR, feeling proud of myself for making it through another day
