Once again

So glad I found this specific thread. I am literally on day 1, once again for the millionth time. Anywho, I am fairly aware of the immediate detox symptoms. I absolutely hate it all, but I have NEVER reached out for help during this time. I have been wanting to join sr for months. Never got the confidence to join, until tonight. Just really looking for some encouragement as I am 35 and knocking on deaths door with my alcoholism. I HAVE to be done. Just at a loss for any sort of maintenance.

Welcome! Throw in the towel and surrender ... Turn and walk away from alcohol for good. Surrender means to join the winning side ( you can look it up)! Please come here often... In all the messiness that is early recovery. You can't save your a$$ and your face at the same time! Big hugs to you.., you can get through this. I believe in you! Xo

I have a short term plan that is to get through withdrawl symptoms (typical relapse for me is on day 4 or 5 although I maintained abstinence for a yr.) and to get support through a few outlets I have sought out (this community being one) and reach out about my alcoholism. I have kept myself together in appearance for years, but I feel my health deteriorating. I am lethargic. Constant hangover. Guilt. Anxiety.
I just can't feel like this anymore. I want my life back.

For me the first step was the hardest. The others weren't exactly easy but...

Welcome.

Welcome.

Thanks for the post.

1 year and a relapse. Yikes.

No advice here... just made 1 year clean myself.

Ea. Day is a learning exp. Never been this clean.

Alcohol is poison. Don't believe the hype.
