I've realized I'm an Alcoholic. Not sure what to do next.
I think that as long as I understand what my goals are I can handle drinking in moderation. However, I don't really see the point in drinking at all and I'm just beginning this process so I think the near future will dictate which is best for me. I lean towards cutting it out altogether. But I need to understand my brain and my mood and how those factor into my drinking.
it sure seems like a crapload of work for someome with a drinking problem to try and moderate.
it would be wise to use the experience of others and your own personal experience to see how well moderation doesnt work. look on your own life and see how may times ya said you were going to stop and didnt. i hope ya reconsider.
want to understand more about it? read the big book of aa. theres 3 chapters in there,"the doctors opinion", "there is a solution" and " more about alcoholism" that explain quite a bit.
Hi and Welcome,
Once the alcohlic pathways are established in the brain, they are irreversible.
Moderation will lead to binging for the alcoholic binger. That is me. 158 clean days.
Booze is a toxin. Don't believe the hype. Sober is cooler than being a prisoner to booze. Just quit. Trust us, we dont want to harm you.
You don't want the eventual and insidious anxiety fueled brain damage, do you?
It's coming like a slow moving freight train.
SR saved me. Visit often to keep alcohol out of your life.
