2 weeks at midnight

At midnight it's 2weeks no alcohol, the weekend is almost done. I leave house sitting tomorrow, watched everyone drink here had no desire for drinking thanks for support on my help thread u all got me through.
The benzo withdrawal is hard, I am an anxious shaky wreck, never sleep and shower 2 times a week, exercise in spurts then can't from exhaustion and sleep deprivation.
I can try supplements after I get paid that were suggested.
Some mess I got here please tell me it's better to quit than to never quit.

sleepy , If you never quit , you will never feel any better . If your feeling crappy now you'll feel even worse if you keep drinking . You did great - it will only get better from here How about a nice relaxing bath , before bed ?

I have a hard time believing it gets better no matter how late you quit. I know I am barely started and I want to believe it gets better with time but truth is there are no guarantees so this is a source of great anxiety exacerbated by benzo withdrawal.
How did you handle this?

Congratulations, sleepie!!!! 2 weeks is awesome!

Sometimes you just have to trust the process, it really will get better. You have a lot of stuff going on so be kind and patient with yourself and your recovery.

Try to treat yourself like a dear, much loved friend

that's really good, definitely keep strong!
for me it's exactly 1 week today without alcohol, and any time alcohol comes into my mind I just think about this place and it's nice to know I can discuss my thoughts/feelings etc with people in similar circumstances!
so just talk to people here and keep strong you're doing great!

I think you already know how life is with the benzos and alcohol, which is not good day to day month to month year to year.

Yes, quitting and getting "established" as a sober person is really hard, but in slow increments, and with some bad days quite honestly, life just gets "better".

It's like you are right now on the steepest part of the mountain with lots of rocks and not much to look out on yet, but if you keep climbing there are alpine meadows and a beautiful view.

New things to see and do--even old things to see and do which feel new because you have a different perspective.

It is terrific you have already built two weeks up sleepie--you have worked hard to get there and your sober muscle is getting stronger. . .

sleepy , Have you tried some herbal teas , there are some for calming won't hurt too look at some . When you first log on I seen some adds about them , I think 3 different ones .
You said the Dr gave you a Script or types of supplements that will help ? Just 1 more day , get them tomorrow . You've done so well don't give up it will be worth it . Don't sit and dwell on how bad you feel , try keeping busy . I know its easy said than done .
You can Beat this

Keep going Sleepie! You're not going far enough from the last drink, you're allowing yourself to wallow in the shallow end. Hang in there, you will never get over feeling like crap if you don't stick with it. Just keep holding on, it really does get better but you can't keep giving in. Just make it over the hump this time, I know you can do it.

Hey, sleepie. I don't know anything about benzo withdrawals, but I didn't get any good sleep my first couple weeks of sobriety from alcohol. It sucks and it's frustrating and it makes everything seem hopeless. Hope that will level out very soon for you.

Rootin' for you, sleepie!
