Right now, it is only 6:00 am MST so I am on my deck, drinking coffee and looking at the stars. In a few hours I'll be going over to my son's house in Tucson to open presents and have breakfast. The plan is to have mimosas with breakfast; I have no interest in morning drinks so I will decline. The rubber will meet the road this afternoon when we have Christmas dinner and the wine comes out. I intend to abstain from wine but will overeat a bit most likely. Wish me strength everyone!

It's only 845 eastern for me but I went ahead and logged my no vote. Not drinking today, not even entertaining it.

I voted no because if I was going to drink it would have been last night. Traditional Xmas Eve party with everyone around me drinking. It was surprisingly easy to do, when you convince yourself that you don't have the choice to drink alcohol. Even with my cousin calling me "Ginger" because I was drinking ginger ale.
I honestly don't remember the last Christmas I did not drink.
It feels great. Every once in a while I get this flash of "maybe I'll have one..." in my mind. But I fight it off because I don't want to break my streak of 9 days!!
Have a good one all.

D.D.

Not drinking this christmas, but having a rough go of it. Anniverary of my brother getting killed in iraq was yesterday. Ebay buyer trying to scam me out of a 400 dollar item saying it was damaged when i know it wasnt. my drunk arse aunt inviting us to her house for eats. not looking forward to being around drunken potheads. my 230 dollar motherboard in my com getting ruined a few days ago forcing me to sell the item im getting scammed for on ebay. lets go, keep piling it on and see how far i can go before i crack-venting done. Christmas morning here merry christimas SR-friends. oh yea.. I vote no.

I also read it wrong and said yes, thinking it was last year. It is a big fat no. I voted twice I think. LOL

Looks like you, me and Sugarbear just ruined the OPs poll. Good to see there are people out there who are as absent minded as I am.

Me, too! I find comfort in the fact that so many people misread the question!

In a pissy mood, but otherwise sober. I really feel like being alone this Christmas but am going to eat turkey with friends and try not to be cold and sneering. I'll try and forgive the people at the gathering who have wronged me and enjoy the occasion.

Not really celebrating. Just home alone with my wife and the cats. Already been terribly stressful day filled with daily fighting with the wife...and it's not even 1pm yet!

But no, I haven't and will not drink today. 11 days

Lovely sober day and went for a long walk with my sister in her wheelchair after lunch which she really enjoyed and I couldn't have done that with good grace if I'd got drunk.

It's my third Christmas without alcohol and my first without cannabis. First completely sober holiday since I was in my twenties. Going GREAT so far. I offered a free yoga class at my studio and it was really well attended. Then super yummy dinner with my love and our pets. Awesome day! Next up is dessert from the Italian deli. xoxoxo
