What is the average age-range in here?
26 years old. Started experimenting with drugs and alcohol when I was 13, got much worse when I turned 18. Realized I had a problem when I was about 23ish. Started really putting in the effort towards recovery the last 6 months. Going to make 26 the year I succeed in making a better life for myself
I am approaching my sober anniversary date on April 6th, so I thought I would stop in a little ahead of time and say hello. At age 82 I think I am the oldest on SR cause nobody has admitted to being older than me on this thread. Oh well, every day above ground is a good day in sobriety. Keep coming back.
time is the major variable
When they asked George Burns what his Doctors said about his smoking and drinking, he replied my doctors are all dead.
My Brother is 88 so I have at least 6 years as long as he stays alive.

I was your age in 1978, working in the old post office building in Washington, DC, implementing a national law, and living very large in my cadillac convertible telling my daughter about living fast, dying young, and having a good-looking corpse. I was crazy and an alcoholic but then I repeat myself.
You've got it right Dee74, and I don't know how you Aussies put down the booze. Living in Oz is almost as intoxicating as Ireland or DC. Again I repeat myself.
Thanks for putting me onto wpainterw. He has the same heart valve problem my brother has. My brother had an aortal bypass 20 years ago.
We get to age by doing the next right things. My latest role model is a man age 96.
Please keep up the great service you are doing on SR.
