how many 12 Step Meetings do you attend ?

how many 12 Step Meetings do you attend each week ?

just thought we would get a poll here regarding 12 Step meeting attendance

this is to include all types of 12 Step Meetings

AA, NA, Al-Anon/Alateen, GA, Christian 12 Step - etc. etc.

when I sobered up I attended proxy 5 meetings a week
this went on for almost a year
now I attend on an average proxy 2 a week

enjoy the poll
have a good day

90 in 90 comes highly recommended
for ones who are serious about getting and staying sober

back in 1989 I went through rehab
stayed sober just short of 3 years
I was on a court slip due to some trouble I had gotten into to
I had a stack of full page signed court slips when I saw the judge
I had attended over 1,350 meetings in proxy 1,250 days
the judge was very impressed
gave me and my lawyer everything we asked for
then like a fool I took it all for granted
pretty much stopped going to meetings
was back to being a drinking drunk in short time

I moved this from Daily Support forum. That forum is only for continuing threads (part two and beyond)

This forum seems a good fit.

I don't use meetings/12-step in my recovery, so I answered "never".. not sure if this was just for people who are using AA (etc) or not..

The 'never' option kinda suggested to me it might be better in the main alcoholism forum.

If you want me to move it to 12 step forum let me know OHP.

I have one meeting I love lined up for each day of the week but schedule changes happen and I have been known to take a nap or get "lost" at the bookstore so I put 3 to 5 but truthfully my average is closer to 6 these days

Ps: it's not that I am so wonderful, I am just lucky that my home group meets 5 times a week and is just 3 blocks away from my house LOL

Now that I have had the obsession to drink lifted from me. I attend 2-3 twelve step meetings per week. Not because I need them to stay sober. But because I want to see newcomers get well. I rarely see that at non-twelve step meetings.

My first 5 years of sobriety I'd say I averaged 5 to 6 meetings a week. After that I've been kinda all over the place with meeting attendance. At times I went reguarly, sometimes not so reguarly. For a year or 2, I was averaging about a meeting a month, but would jump in from time to time and do a whole bunch in a row. I'm comfortable making 1 meeting a week, I've been making 2 meetings a week for over a year now, and I like to aim for 3 a week but I've got a very full schedule and it's not always possible. It's not necessary either. AA was a bridge back to life for me, and it's worked and still works wonderfully.

I'd like to note that as much as I hated to admit it at the time, when I was not attending AA meetings consistently, I was also becoming a pretty miserable dude. I don't know what the magic is, but I don't question it anymore. When I attend reguarly, I'm a much happier and more grounded person. I look forward to my meetings. I didn't always feel that way.

I do 5 meetings a week and I have almost 7 months. It seems about right to me.

I do at least 1 BB and 1 Step Study meeting per week in that mix.

I was getting to 5/6 a week for a month or two. Dropped down slowly. Next thing I knew it was 2/3 a week. I went down to just my home group.

Then some junk happened which caused me to take a break entirely.

I put occasionally. I enjoy certain meetings and plan to go back but right now I want to see how I feel just living sober. So far it feels great.

Just like drinking I wonder where I found time for so many meetings.

I used to be addicted to alcohol, but that was almost two years ago now. I went to a few meetings during that first week of sobriety, but I haven't been to one since then.

My wife and I did 90 meetings in 90 days, but have cut back and now I just go to about three meetings a week. Also, I meet with my sponsor once a week.

I'm in a rural area, so I have to go a ways to get to meetings.

when traveling I try to attend different meetings

heading out to the desert for a week
usually go to three early morning AA meetings out there (per week)
they have a cool Alano Club that holds many meetings
love watching the sun come up over the desert
getting up early with a meeting to start my day

I have met a lot of nice people out there in recovery

when traveling I try to attend different meetings

good for a change
