Rrrrr.... I was looking through the movie listings with my girlfriend Saturday, but 'Flight' didn't look interesting to her (I'm not big on Denzel movies either). I'll to watch it later on.

I saw it Friday morning. IMO probably the best movie I have seen in a very long time. Plus Denzel gives the performance of his career if you ask me.

Sooo much of the movie was just soooooooo familiar. Not to mention I think we all have "that friend" that John Goodman played to a tee! lol

Excellent film, if you haven't seen it then go, you won't be sorry.

Well part of it is true. In 2000 a jack screw did fail on an aircraft. And killed everyone on board (88 to be exact). The pilot attempted to fly upside down to correct for the stuck elevator to level out but lost altitude so fast it still hit the water.

Why did it fail? Because the airline refused to spend the money and man hours, plus having the plane down for X number of hours to replace it.

The other parts are true to. Alcoholism and drug abuse are fairly common in aviation due to the high stress work environment. And it's become so easy to fake a pee-pee test that people can get away with it, and do. Though the whole snorting cocaine so you arn't slumping around drunk... I've never seen someone do that hahaha

Haven't seen the movie yet, but I look forward to it.

It's a really good movie. I got a real kick out of him getting "prepared" for his hearing on the accident. His lawyer, Cheadle is one of my favorite actors.

Good movie! I saw a screening about a month ago and it was one of the catalyst leading up to my decision to get sober. 21 days today. It just hit so close to home. well, except for the flying an aircraft while loaded part. Denzel's performance was awesome.

My daughters just saw this today and did not like it. They said it was very depressing. Well, they probably were in the mood for something light hearted. I am still anxious to see it myself.

There is a story in the back of the BB 4th edition titled "Grounded" about a professional airline pilot.

My wife and I enjoyed Flight. Denzel is an awesome character actor, and he really protrays being a serious drunk. We felt grateful to be sober, lol. The film is authentic and yet still entertaining enough to have a few ironic laughs. Very much worth seeing.

Thumbs up

All I can say is, wow. Denzel is one of my favorite actors, and as was already said, this may be his best work yet. Played the part to a "T". I saw so much of me in the character Denzel portrayed. (except for being an airline pilot)

I'll spoil it if I say much more about the movie, so go and see it! At 10am, the theater was packed. Go! Now! Good reason NOT to have a drink! See it alone, even! You will say
